3 heartbeats

OK, so the past few days the babies' heartbeats have gotten to the point where I can find them in an instant.  I mean, I'm feeling them move and all too.

At my last two ob appts both ob's said that the babies were lying close together and found them right away also.  They did no further searching since they found two...HOWEVER, when I do the doppler, I am getting 3.  In 3 different locations too.

I am getting the two that they have found, and I'm also getting another VERY STRONG one on the opposite side of my belly.  One is top left side, one is way down low on the left side, and there is another on the right side in the "corner" if you will.  All three heartbeats are in the 150's so they are not mine.

When I was pregnant with Kellen I used a doppler EVERY DAY and never found 2 heartbeats.  Never an echo, NOTHING.  One of my friends says it could be the umbilical cord or placenta beating.  Does that sound right at 16 weeks?

Anyone have ANY insight here?  LOL...(that was a VERY nervous laugh)

When was the last time you had an ultrasound?  Maybe there is a Thing 3 in there...  :-)
I could NEVER get the doppler to work.  :(

My doppler comes with a warning that what you hear might be the umbilical cord / placenta beating....but offers very little information about where that would be located or how fast it would beat.  So I suppose it's POSSIBLE.

But I think it'd be awesome to have triplets!  Well awesome for you.... (heh heh)

You might be getting the heartbeat through the front of one baby and then also hearing it through its back.

Sandy,
It sounds like it could be the placenta you are hearing.  I had a Doppler with Hannah and for the first few days that is what I thought the heartbeat was.  It was more of a whooshing sound than the heartbeats (more like pounding horse hooves).   If they all sound the same OMG!   Even your heartbeat would be alot slower and noticeably different.
Bless your heart lol!  When is your next ultrasound?

Yeah, they all sound strong and the same.  I am hoping it's the placenta or something.  I used a doppler all 9 months with Kellen and never got another heartbeat so this is kinda freaking me out.  My next ultrasound is on the 9th...too far away!  LOL!

Thanks ANN!  Freak me out even more!  LOL!  The soonest they could get me in for an ultrasound is the 9th...the u/s tech is going on vacation and then the doctor is.  I see the doc on the 8th though so I'll bring it up then.  UGH!

I have no experience with a home doppler. Could you possibly be hearing your own heartbeat....maybe???

or maybe you have Huey, Dewey, and Louie!
