Who kept drinking it while TTC.  There's all these articles about how it can reduce chances of getting pregnant or increase the chance of a MC.  However I have yet to see any real scientific proof.  Don't get me wrong, I plan on quitting when I get pregnant, maybe a latte every once in a while, but does it realllyyyy effect conception?  Who was drinking it when they concieved?  I drink one medium lite latte from dunkin donuts a day.  Sometimes I don't even have one a day.  Just wondering, everyone I talk to has a different opinion.

I was a coffee addict when I got pregnant.  I had no idea I was pregnant until I was almost 7 weeks along and drank more than coffee during that time.  I drank small amounts during my pregnancy, but nothing like before I got pregnant.  I have a beautiful, perfect, healthy baby girl that will soon be 9 months old.

Hi--

I was (OK, still am) a caffeine addict. Before getting pregnant, I easily drank 700 mg of caffeine a day. My primary care doc really suggested I cut down and this was BEFORE I even began TTC. While TTC, I went down to 300 mg a day. My IVF clinic wanted to curb my intake at 50 mg/day. Let's just say I didn't last long on that dose. I am now pregnant, and stick to the 300 mg or less a day rule. For me, that means one large mug of coffee in the morning and 2 Coke Zeros (34 mg each) during the afternoon. Sometimes I jokingly refer to our baby boy as "Java."

This is a link I find useful for caffeine content: http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0777440.html

By the way, on the Dunkin' Donuts website it lists nutritional content of all their drinks/foods....but if you want the caffeine content, call their 800 number. I found it helpful when I was calculating my caffeine intake

Best of luck to you,

--Paula (currently nursing a Coke Zero)

I drank two cups of coffee every day for years, and since we where not TTC I never gave it up, I cut back to 8 ounces per day now that I am pregnant, but I have not given it up completely.

My OB's office said 1 large cup of coffee a day is perfectly fine. I only drink decaf but only because caffeine doesn't like me anymore. Sometimes I mix 1/2 and 1/2 if I need a "boost"

When I went in for my initial RE appointment a month ago, she asked me how many cups of coffee I drank in a day. She was astonished when I said 10-12 cups a day. She told me I should only have 1-2 cups a day. I am an all or nothing girl so 1-2 cups was not going to cut it. I am happy to say I am 3 weeks w/o coffee.
