Did anyone have morning sickness?

And how the HECK did you get through it?

Talked with my OB yesterday and she said it's not too early for me to have ms - some people are just extra sensitive to the hormones.  I also talked with my bariatric coordinator who wasn't much help, but she was reassuring - and I should get additional info from my surgeon today.

So I have started munching on crackers and have had some chicken noodle soup yesterday as well as 90 oz of water.  In addition to the nausea I also have really bad diarreah - did anyone else have that?

Does anyone have any all day sickness survival tips for the post op rny'er?  I'm going to pick up some sf jello today as well as oatmeal.  Thinking bland stuff....  My OB reccommended gatorade, but thats all high in sugar - the G2 has 7g sugar per 8 oz, but thats the high end for me.  Going to grab some b6 to try as well as those wrist bands too.

Any guidance would be MUCH appreciated!!!

Find what sits and eat that! That was what my nutritionist told me - for me it was PB&J on white bread. I also had to keep my stomach with something in it - I was eating about every hour.

Hope that it passes quickly for you!

Anything easy on your stmach shourl be a try. I was eating half a grilled cheese on wheat bread with bacon mayo and bread and butter pickles. Then I switched to half a grilled cheese and tuna fish and that worked for awhile also. Rizt crackers are an all day thing. I also eat ritz bits with cheese. I also do eat oatmeal. So its just eat what I can. My second trimester has been worse for me so far. I was a little sick to my stomach sometimes in the first trimester and since the 12th week I have been sick a lot. So everyone is different. Just have to work with your tummy! Hope it gets better soon.

I ate nothing but dry toast and toasted plain bagels for almost 3 weeks. I would have to even wake up in the middle of the night to take a few bites of bagel to ensure that my stomach was not ever empty. Looking at or thinking about eating pretty much everything made me SO sick! I tried the preggy pops and they did not do a thing for me. I found that slowly sipping crystal light lemondae was soothing to my tummy at times. I have heard that the bands work well in the beginning and lose their effectiveness within hours, so save your receipt. My all day sickness only lasted 3 weeks, and I was back to normal. Hope you are feeling better soon!!

I had all day nausea from about week 8-14. Eating often didn't really help, so I went on zofran and that was a life saver!

All I can say is go with the flow...that is what I have had to do...some days i feel semi-normal and other days i feel like a mack truck ran over me...I eat something every hour...drink spearmint tea in the morning and have been snacking on fruit which has seemed to help (I have been craving it too) I was sick from week 6-9 then week 10 was amazingly great no sickies at all...then week 11 was horrid...I am now 12 weeks and am learning the signals my body gives and trying to obey them as much as possible...

but it is hard...

Thank you so VERY much!  I guess I'll just wing it and try a little bit of everything until I find something that works.  Just afraid of getting dehydrated, which I think I may be.

Try Powerade Zero.  I like the blue one the best.

Not morning sickness---all day, all month for 9 months sickness. lol
For me, I think it is worse this time than first time round before my RNY. I think my issues this time are more a matter of blood sugar (hypoglycemia) than the hormones. The hormone sickness for me finally started abating about a week, 10 days ago. Now the isue is that without fail, I MUST eat every two hours or I am fall-down-pass-out-black-out-dry-heaving-shaking-like-mad sick.
I just pray that I am eating right and well enough that I don't gain a lot, and that it keeps my metabolism up! :c)

Try to keep hydrated and keep something in your stomach. That is the best thing I have found to combat the constant nausea.
