Aiden update
I didn't really post here much on issues with Aiden being ill.. but in a nutshell he was sick for over a week. I kept taking him to the Dr.(mine was out on vacation) anyway I had that "gut" mommy radar going and He was sooo ill.. anyway they ended up admitting him Friday am.. The nurses and staff were wonderful to us both.Steve stayed home with the other kids and I stayed.. they gave me a bed, place to shower, and fed me 3 meals a day..
all tests done(spinal tap, RSV, swine flu, blood ,chest x-ray) were all negative except the blood that showed He had an infection.. somewhere????.. anyway we were released to take meds at home and re take blood.. the results are in today and all is well. His values are all OK.
I still have no idea what he had..The meds worked...
I was so worried I might loose him..he was that ill...I am so grateful to good friends and prayers sent out for him and my family:-)
I feel so blessed to see he is smiling again and happy.

nope not nursing.. they didnt care...no way was I leaving...so I guessI was lucky it wasnt too full..and that the bed next to his crib wasnt occupied... we slept in the bed.. he and I..I didnt want to let him out of my sight!
they also probably love moms to stay..cause we do all the work they would have to do..so feeding us is an incentive lol.

You are lucky! When Gabi was in we were at what is now the old Children's Hospital. We started off in a shared room with an obnoxious guy snorting his nose, but since she was respiratory, the charge nurse came in and quickly put us in our own private room, thank goodness! She was only 3 days old and I wasn't letting her out of my sight, either. I stayed the whole time, it was nerve wracking at best. I had to sleep in a chair that kindof pulled out into a bed like thing, but Gabi wouldn't sleep in the crib. She ended up sleeping on my chest the whole time. Now we have opened a brand new gorgeoous Children's Hospital and everyone gets a private room and there are beds for parents, thank goodness! Hopefully we will never end up overnight there again, but if we do, it should be a little more comfortable. And yeah, I did everything for Gabi, too. Except blood pressure and temps, but after a while, when I started telling them which small cuff to use, they stopped taking her pressure frequently. lol.

I don't think I knew you were from Pittsburgh, cool! At least I don't remember if you told me before. The hospital is actually called Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, through UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.) They moved from Oakland to Lawrenceville, a whole lot closer to me, about 5 min. Where St. Francis Hospital used to be, if you know where that was. They tore it down and rebuilt a gorgeous new hospital. Here's a link if you are interested: http://www.chp.edu/CHP/new_campus
