another question
THanks Ladies for being understanding - I know I have a lot of questions.
Alright so my discharge papers after my D&E speciallically say "nothing in the vagina for 4 weeks" Holy Hell hubby is gonna have to sleep in the garage or something soon. I know that I want him close so it is probably more of a closeness thing and not a sex thing but 4 whole weeks! lol I guess there are other options - but did you really wait 4 weeks? I guess I should at least give it 1 week before I "break the rules!" lol I guess this is also so that by chance I am ovulating that I don't get pregnant until my uterus has healed up and had a normal cycle right?
Thanks ladies! You are the BEST!

My paper work said one week and complete stoppage of bleeding. That was a toughy for me because I would stop for a day and then start again. The one I had in 2007 said two weeks. Four weeks is a long time, bt six weeks isn't unheard of either(usually for late term) Call your doc and ask. It is to give your uterus a chance to heal and to make sure your cervix is closed back up.

I was told specifically to wait until I had stopped bleeding until I had intercourse. My bleeding was worse with the first d&c and lasted 8 days I want to say. The second was probably 5 -6 days or so. After both procedures it was slightly uncomfortable the first few times that we had sex. It was not painful but I did have an almost raw sensation. I would recommend at the very least to wait until you are no longer bleeding.

I was in the same boat you're in. I was told to wait 4 weeks yet I wanted that closeness sooooo bad and hubby of course wanted sex. But I was bleeding SO badly that I didn't want anything in there anyway. I did, but I didn't...if that makes sense...but I do think I just really wanted to be close and held. I was told that it was to ward off an infection or anything like that.
Hope you guys can hold out! LOL!

omg Liz I had to laugh - because I sent a text message to my husband from the hospital that said - uh oh no sex for SIX weeks. Yep, my papers said six weeks. It's been three-ish. I broke down this past weekend.
I figured as long as I had stopped bleeding (which took about two full weeks) and felt ok, then the heck with it.
I don't know that I'm recommending this LOL but it wasn't a problem (yet).
Hugs.
