Was admitted to the hospital.....very long!

I was at work on Tuesday and we just finished a C-Section and I was turning the patient to clean her up and I felt a small gush,  I finished with the patient really quick and went to check things out. I had clear fluid about the size of a small apple that went through my pants and undies. I went and talked to the one of the nurses about it and she told me to go get checked out. So now I was in a weird spot because I'm not delivering at the hospital I work at so I had to decide if I was going to stay at work and go get checked out, and if it was negative for amniotic fluid...just go back to work, or drive 20 min and go to my my hospital with my doctor. I called DH and he said just stay at work and get checked really quick, so I did. They hooked me up to the monitors and tested me for the amniotic fluid and Thank God it was negative. While I was hooked up to the monitors they noticed every time the baby moved is heart rate would drop and they were not comfortable with it. My nurse who is also my co-worker was trying to do every thing on the down low but when she saw the strip she had to call the doctor, it was cool because they let me pick the best doctor at that hospital instead of who was on call that day (who was not the best doc.) So the doctor said give her an IV to hydrate her and get an ultra sound. No one at my hospital knows about my surgery, another reason I didn't want to deliver their, but I had to tell my nurse (thank God again I got one of the nurses I trust the most at work) she was very cool about it and said her and the doc will be the only people that know about it. The Ultra Sound came out great baby looked wonderful (said he was about 3 lbs and a little a head of schedule ). They wanted me to get a full bag of fluids in so they let me hang out and stay on the monitor for a while and wouldn't you know it I start contracting every 2 min and the baby's heart rate is still dipping, so the doctor decides to keep me over night for observation. They give me a shot of turb and get the contractions to stop and move me over to Antipartum, I couldn't believe all this was happening.... I guess its a good thing I peed on myself ( that's what they said it probably was because of the pressure of moving the patient and it happens all the time.)  I have been on the phone with DH telling him whats going on and he is freaking out because he is on his way to Vegas (he's a truck driver) with a load, I told him it's probably nothing and since its a fast load just to take it and come back (we need the money) and we will see what is going on when he gets back. My Mom was able to get Zoe from the sitter and keep her for the night and Jacob is at his Dads for the summer so it worked out. The baby had a few more dips through the night and DH was able to get to the hospital around 5am...with breakfast. The doctor came in and said he thinks its a cord wrapped somewhere, so he was ordering another Ultra Sound with a Doppler to follow the cord to see how the blood flow was and if it was wrapped around him. He said even if the cord is wrapped around him their is nothing they can do, I would just have to have NST's all the time to monitor him. He said after the test I would be discharged and to follow up with my doctor immediately after I leave. So he leaves and then I start contracting every 2 min again.....what the Hell!! So I get another shot of trurb and they stop. I get the ultra sound and come to find out the baby has the cord around his foot so every time he kicks me, he steps on his cord.   I got discharged yesterday and I have a doctors appt today at 3 to discuss all of this with my doctor. The other doctor tried to get a hold of my doc to tell him everything that was going on and kept getting the run around from the office about how to reach him and I guess they were very rude to him, so DH and I will be having a talk with him about that today. WOW! this is very long, thanks for reading if you got this far, I will keep you guys updated on today's appt. Now I'm going to get caught up on all of you.

Have a Great Day

Wow! What an adventure! Lets hope that this little man settles himself and stops getting tangled up! lol

Glad that you are both ok - and more monitoring just means that it is more reassurance that you are both OK!

I'm glad you and the baby are all right. What a long and worrisome drive that must have been for your DH. Continued prayers for a healthy baby!
