Would I know by now?

I am breast feeding Cooper 3-4 times a day and bottle feeding formula the rest of the time.  (I know I malabsorb 80% of the fats in my diet and 50% of protein - - I want him nourished so I feel more comfortable supplementing formula.)

Would I know by now if the formula I chose is upsetting him?  He is gassy....  but it's not intolerable.   I do give him some anti-gas-drops at night to help him.

I just want to know if I can stock up on this formula or should I still tread lightly that he'll suddenly have an adverse reaction and I'll have to switch to something more gentle?  He's been using this same formula since birth....  (9 days now!)

Thanks!

Cindy

I would think by now you would know if he's not tolerating it. If he doesn't have alot of diarrhea or constipation, then I would think his lettle tummy and intestines are doing just fine.

We changed Jantzen 3 times, but we would know within a few days it wasn't working for him.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

You would know for sure.  Dylan is lactose intolerant and we learned right away that she needed a formula switch to soy.  She was pooping 4-6 times after a feeding and had a bloody diaper rash because of it.   It took a few days after the switch, but she was happy as a clam.

In my opinion I would NOT stock up on formula until you are sure, its expensive stuff. Since you BF a few times maybe he dosent get the full upset but the formula could very well be bothering him. And honestly, I didnt know with Nylah that the formula was the problem until about 3 weeks old. Gosh I sure dont miss these problems, but so worth it. Children are so lovely and I wouldnt have traded even my daughters colic, she is PERFECT and at 15 months old mommy's girl.

Emma was switched 4 times in 14 days, but we knew right away because she vomitted it up. Also, she had issues with my bm. Little things can bug them. Say if you eat spicy food or caffeine. I learned the hard way because I started drinking alot of crystal light tea after birth, not realizing it had caffeine. Sure enough, stopped the caffeine and she was fine with the gas again. Good luck. Shari
