Okay ladies I know there are lots of things that I can do but I thought I would post here and see what has worked for others! Starting last Thursday I have been super busy alot of walking and alot of it outside in the heat! Well since Thursday I have gained TWELVE pounds and have no ankles left at all!! I do get over 70oz of fluid a day and no sodas, so fluid intake is okay but I am a little wigged out here!
Sooo for those that have swollen up please share things that helped you!!

TIA
Beth

My advice, well what works for me...drink MORE MORE MORE WATER - When swollen I try for 120 ounces, and eat some more fiber, move things along. I quit weighing because I just feel like a fat blob. I have a 36 week US next Monday and dread the scale already. Smile, it will be over very soon.

Wow, that sounds like you are retaining a LOT of fluid!
So far the only things that really seems to help me a lot when I'm getting really puffy is to get in the POOL! The water pressure seems to help get all the fluid moving to the right places again.
How is your sodium intake?

Hey hun!
Are you adding lemon to your water? Lemon can really make you swell. Take care babe.

oh ouchie......some thoughts...

- up the water even more....
- keep your feet up (try to elevate above your heart...so hard to do that, but try to keep them up)
- decrease salt intake
- can you take a water pill? I retain water so bad and my dr let me take a diueritic (sp) every now and then....but it helped as I gained 7 pounds in one day and took one and it went away.....
- keep out of this dreadful GA heat...it is suppose to get worse this week too....

Hi Beth...

Sorry, I have no advice for ya, but wanted you to know I'm hoping someone finds a solution for you. I do know retaining water can be really uncomfortable!! Hang in there!!

Right after my surgery someone suggested Watermelon to me for water retention, I was so swollen earlier this week so I gave it a try, and it seems like it worked! My ankles are not 100% back to normal, but I can SEE them again. Also, do you have a blood pressure cuff? With that much retention, I think it would be worth a look, just in case.

Oh you poor thing, but you are at least having fun, right?  Earlier this week someone mentioned baked pumpkin....  Maybe give that a try?

Drink lots of water and I would suggest putting a call in to your doc.  Is your face swollen too?  I would be worried about toxicimia.   My best friend had that and that was the first thing that came to mind when you said 12 pounds since Thursday.   Now that I've been Debbie Downer I'm leaving lol.
