Help!!!! i was banded 2 months ago, and I have now found out that I am pregnant.  Have no idea what to do.  We are really excited about the pregnancy, but we are shocked as well.  Did not think I would be able to fall pregnant yet due to weight, and also my Doctor thought I would have problems due to fact that I have very long periods.  We had only been trying for 4 months.  Any ideas of what to do about the band????
I have gained and lost the same ten pounds so many times over and over again my cellulite must have déjà vu.

I'm confused --  did you get a band over your VGB that was done in 05, or is the date wrong on your profile or what..?

If you have an adjustible gastric band, you need to get an unfill most likely.  Make sure you are getting at least 100g carbs per day minimum.  Go in and get a full blood panel to make sure your numbers are spot on and go from there.

Hello,

I was banded February 13, 2009 and found out I was pregnant two weeks ago, I am actually already 2 1/2 months along which means I got pregnant just over two months after my surgery. I was very scared at first. I have talked with my ob and my surgeon, they see very successful pregnancies with the band. I have about 4.2 cc in a 10cc band and my surgeon has suggested that I leave the fill until I feel like I am not able to hold stuff down or too tight. I am not gaining any wait, actually lost a pound. I would not stress yourself out to much, just call your surgeon, try to get into an OB and check things out.

Take Care,

Sarah

So you where trying even though you just got banded? Or where you trying for four months BEFORE you got banded and then it was an "opps" that you got pregnant this close to being banded? I would be worried just for the simple fact that at two months out I was still having to baby my band, and could not (even with a complete unfill) handle many solid foods. Call your surgeon, he is the only one who can help you really.
