Jennifer,

I totally see where you are coming from. And you are 100% right. Anyone should ALWAYS consult their physician in these cir****tances. I think this board is a place to come to get opinions, advice, and experiences. But not final medical advice.

Because I work in the medical field, and deal with medical issues every day, I assume that anyone would always consult their doc in cir****tances where they aren't sure of something. Maybe that is a big assumption to make.

I always ask for opinions here, and like to hear experiences of others. But my final decision is always based on what my doc and I decide on.

I think that sometimes we come across ideas, experiences, and cir****tances when we talk to others that frankly, not all docs are aware of. Which is why I love OH so much. Because we are from a wide variety of backgrounds, and areas, it lends us to hear of things and learn things we never knew before.

However, it is only a stepping stone to inform us, as patients, and to bring attention to things our docs may not have come across or experienced before.

I live in a small area. And not where my surgery was performed. When I became pregnant on BC pills, I didn't understand. And neither did my doc till I did some research and got some info from people on here.

I was my doc first RNY patient and he didn't understand the absorption issues with the pill. He actually told me I made him get more education about the issue so he was more informed with any future patients with WLS.

It wasn't his fault, it just wasn't anything he had come across before. So.... as I think sharing experiences, ideas, and opinions is a great thing, final decision should always be made by a physician.

Thanks for bringing this up. I think this is a wonderful thing to bring to the fore front. It's important for people to understand.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Jennifer,
You are so right, no drug is 100 percent safe, and we really should not be taking anything Tylenol included with out talking to a doctor about it.

We can only share our own eperiences, and I dont want anyone to ever take my experience/advise with out taking to their doctor first.
