I am sure that the OB told me but well all I heard was tomorrow morning and general anestesia. I was also told to fill a perscription - actually 2 - ambien and lortab. and to get a heating pad. What should I expect?

Thanks ladies

My D & C wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined (physically).  I had very light bleeding afterwards and cramping.  I was in and out within about 3 hours.  I came home and did alot of sleeping and crying.  Actually when I was waking up from the anestesia, I remember crying.

The doctor also told us we could try again after one normal period, we did... got pregnant that month and everything worked out fine.  We have a healthy 16 month old son.

Be angry, cry, scream.. all of this is normal. Take some time off of work.  I took several days off and it was the best thing I could have done.

You and your hubby are in my thoughts and prayers.

Liz,
I just had mine yesterday. If you keep up the pain meds you will just have some dull pains. But keep up on the paid meds. They knock you out and then you get to go home in a few hours. Really it's more emotional then anything else. I'm so sorry.

Jackie

Edit...wow I said knock up and meant knocked out! Sorry on pain meds....

Just try and not to do too much right after. Take your pain meds if you need them and take time off work. Your hormones will go nuts and you will be glad you did. I'm sorry you have to go through this  It just sucks.

Just stay in bed as you can and take the meds and it will help. My last one was not so much painful physically as it was emotionally.

THanks ladies - the cramping has begun - whatever she put in my cervix I guess is doing it's job. Tomorrow and saturday my plan is to stay in bed and recover - maybe move to the recliner. Sunday We are supposed to go to my grandmother's she is close so we'll see how I feel - I am super close to my family so it might help with the healing process.

Thanks again

Hey Liz, I would agree even if you can just lay around being with family was super helpful for me in the last week or so.  Especially family that knows and can be supportive.

I don't plan on doing much tomorrow or saturday - I am sure that my grandmother, mom and aunt will make a showing which is fine by me - we are having a father's day gathering at my grandmother's on sunday. I am going to try and go - they all know everything and I think that seeing them will help me a lot. I told work I would let them know if I wanted monday off - we'll see how I feel on sunday evening or even early monday morning. I can always work a 1/2 day or something.

Thanks again

I bled like crazy with lots of clots after mine.  But even with that, I was more emotional than anything.  I took a week off to recover physically and a little mentally.  I had PCOS and hadn't had a period in months so that may be why I bled so much.

I wish you lots of luck with big hugs...
