Formula Feeding vs. Breast Feeding vs. Mixture

I guess I'm the odd one out here. I didn't want to breast feed...I knew this before I got pregnant.  This doesn't make me a bad mom nor does it make anyone else a bad mom if they choose to not breast feed.  Based on all the babies I've been around all that were breast fed were sicker than the formula fed ones....this is ONLY my personal experience...so please no flaming!!  Matthew has been on formula since day one, he's never been sick other than his reflux.  But, breast fed babies have reflux too.  As of today he's gained 8 lbs from his birth weight in just 15 weeks.  He is doing great on formula.  I also wanted my husband to be able to feed him and not have to worry about pumping.

I'm a very private person and knew it would be hard for me to breast feed in public even with a wrap.  I could never breast feed in front of anyone probably not even my husband.  Of course this is coming from someone who WAS tickled to death when the dr told me I would need a c-section...LOL.  I hated the idea of my legs being in stirrups and my who ha out there for everyone to see.

What I'm trying to say is....do what is BEST for you and what YOU are comfortable with!  If you want to give breast feeding a go...try it.  If you don't want to it's OK.  If breast feeding works for you and you enjoy it...Great.  If it doesn't give your LO formula and don't beat yourself up over it.  Your LO will be fine if you formula feed.  It doesn't make you a bad mother if you choose to formula feed.
