Anyone Regret WLS?
Best thing I ever did. Not too much to change other than eating less and knowing what your body needs instead of just what you want. I eat mostly the same things just less. I stick with protein first and then extras. I am so happy I did this and nothing would stop me if I had to do it all over again. :)

I regretted my decision when I was in the hospital, b/c I was in pain and scared. That was the ONLY time.
Like one other poster, I too had the DS. I had looked into the lapband and the RnY, but once I learned about the DS, I knew that was the only way for me to go. I wanted to be able to eat normal amounts and be able to eat what I wanted.
I am just shy of 2 years post-op and I am LOVING life....I am now 8 weeks pregnant with my first baby....I will say that being 330lbs I would never have wanted to have kids and we did try and it didn't happen for us. But after losing 140lbs...and one month of trying, we are pregnant.
WLS is different for everyone, you HAVE to research all the options, not just the ones that are the most popular, etc. You need to find the WLS that will work with your life. For me the DS was it. It was a even greater decision for me as my insurance would not pay for WLS, they may have paid for RnY, but I wanted the DS so we had to pay out of pocket and till this day I would do it all over again.
Dr Peters saved me from a life of misery that I was going down and he will forever be in my life and I love him for all he has given me. But you need to be ready...it is a wild ride and still being as far out as I am....at times I forget that I am not 330lbs anymore....that I am "normal".
Good luck with your decision and let me know if you ever want to talk.

I had some complications but I do not regret doing it. I didn't lose as much as I wanted but its not over until you give up (to put it in perspective I am currently down 200lbs and still weigh about what you do as a pre-op). I'd still qualify for surgery actually, but I can't complain. My quality of life is so much better and I am no longer circus fat. Its a personal decision and I can't say its for everyone. Go with your instincts and my best advice for anyone is to consider it a last resort. If you can lose weight any other way do that first, but if nothing else has worked and your health is failing, get the surgery.
I had my share of complications, but I would do it over again in a heartbeat! It was the best decision I ever made, hands down! I was 303 lbs when I started the process and I am now 130 lbs and in a size 3/4. I have also been blessed with 2 beautiful babies that I am certain I would not have been able to have if I had not had my WLS. It's an adjustment at first, yes, but soon it is just a lifestyle change. At 5 years post-op, there are many things I don't notice the difference of missing anymore. Hope that helps! *hugs*
