I'm 14 DPO today...going back and forth on if I should go POAS...but also don't feel like facing disappointment...which is why I'm hesitating.  I may go buy one in just a bit and see.

BTW...I'm probably going to go to India for a week 7/4-13/09...so I'll give you a heads up what Delhi's like. I'm going in the hottest time of year - about 105-110 degrees, and the beginning of monsoon season...and very humid...so I'll be running (crawling) from AC to AC I think.

Thanks for checking...I'll post when/if I go POAS.

My only regret was i let myself become so un-healthy, and did not make changes sooner to my life. I was 30 years old on High blood pressure meds, sleep apnea, almost diabetic and had no energy for my family anymore. I was 230 pounds at 5'3. After surgery being 122 pounds and a size 1 and being on the pill for 9 years solid i became pregnant. I am up 16 pounds so far with this pregnany. That was not in my plans, but GOD has other paths for me to follow. We are very Thankful for our little blessing that will be arriving here very soon.

Good luck to you on your choice!

I would do it again in a heartbeat!
I was 365 lbs before my surgery
My lowest weight was 226, right now I am about 240. I know that I would neer be this healthy with out having had the surgery)
I am super happy, obviously its not perfect I havent reached onderland, but I am a million times happier and healthier than I was at 365, and the OB cleared me to have a baby YAY :)

Hey Krista,
I am in San Antonio too. I had WLS in 2003 and it was the best decision of my life and any and all complications I had are and were worth it because I am happier and healthier and I have my son too. I had and still have PCOS and getting difficult was going to be impossible at almost 300 lbs but thanks to surgery I lost all my weight and then some. I was healthy and must better off trying to get pregnant.  It makes your fertility options better as well because being overweight can make it worse. The surgery does not guarantee a fix or help but it helps. Being almost 6 years out of surgery I can tell you my life is as normal as it gets and I eat what and when I want for the most part and other than the vitamins and what not it is not in the forefront of my thoughts as far as surgery goes. I wish I had done it sooner as a matter of fact. I hope that helps. If you have any questions feel free to email me.

I don't regret my band. I started at about the same weight as you, but I am sure it wouldn't have taken me much time to get back to my highest weight of 276. For me, day to day stuff really hasn't been a huge adjustment. I eat much the same things as I ate before, I just eat a lot less of it. I'm sure without my band I would have gained a LOT while pregnant, but with it I'm hovering around a 15 lb gain, my blood pressure is great and I'm still going to the gym regularly!

Sleeved 07/11/2013  228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)

I had regret the first 2 weeks which is quite common, but really it was just grief for the old ways of soothing myself (over eating food). By the 3rd week I was loving my decision.

Once my mind caught up with my body, it's like I suddenly woke up and started living! Though having more children wasn't my intention with WLS, I have been blessed with a healthy baby boy and just celebrated 100 pounds lost!!!

Like the pp's said, there isn't a moment now that I regret it and I wish I had done it sooner! Honestly, seeking counseling prior to and through early surgery recovery can really help too.

Good luck in your pursuit of better health and do come back when you're ready to TTC again.

Jo

I do NOT regret either of my WLS - even though I had complications with my first one (lap-band got infected, had to be removed), I learned so much about myself and what I truly value.  I feel SO much better with getting this weight off, it's like I'm a new person.  And that's not even considering how much better I look...

Good luck, regardless of whatever you may choose.  WLS isn't for everyone, and that's OK if it's not right for you (or even if it's just not right for you right now...sometimes we need to get ourselves in the right frame of mind first).

Cheers!
