Good Morning everyone!  This is my first pregnancy (that's sticking so far) and I am 10 weeks and 5 days along.  I feel so bloated and I actually look pregnant!  How is that at all possible! I thought for sure I wouldn't show until my 5 month!  I can hardly fit into any of pants because they feel too constricting and uncomfortable.  Now here comes the TMI part....  I haven't had a bowel movement in 7 days!  I took some laxatives last night, and so far nothing.  I can feel the pressure and it's there, it's just not coming out!  Does anyone have any idea how I can get things moving and any way I can prevent this from happening again??  Also, could this be from not drinking enough fluids??  Please, someone help me!!!!

Thanks,
Jess

Hi there! I'm just one day ahead of you with baby #1! I found that if I eat a prune a day and drink about 100 ounces decaf fluid I am in great shape! I would take another dose of the laxitive (if you are - it could get messy! lol)

Hope you feel better soon!!

Liz

BTW - I have been in maternity pants a good 3 weeks, my regular pants were just too constricting!

Pickles...well, one a day every night before bed. It may take a day or two initially...but you'll be like clockwork after that.

hope you feel better

I am one day ahead of you too lol I am already in different clothing too and have been for a while now...all my other clothes are just so tight on my belly it is so uncomfortable!

Prunes are great, a labor and delivery nurse told me if you are constipated drink prune juice warm and it will move you like there is no tomorrow...and yes constipation can be caused by not drinking enough water...water moves things through

It is definitely possible that you are constipated from not getting enough fluids, although it is highly common during pregnancy.  They make these wonderful glycerin suppositories that you might want to give a try.  They work within minutes and don't give you stomach cramps like most laxatives and stool softeners.  I got mine at Walgreens but I know Walmart and Target also sell them.  Good luck.

I took a stool softener almost every day of pregnancy. They are safer than laxatives and no cramping ect. The prenatals cause constipation often.
