I only have one ovary, had the other one removed in march due to cyst.
My question is do you ovulate with one ovary every month?  They say after surgery that you are really fertile..  But would i be with only one?  I am sacred that we will not be able to have another baby.  But we are blessed with one little boy whos going to be three in aug.. (before weight loss)

I am going to be one year out on the 19th ya...   my weight is good..  I have been at my goal of 170 for four months now my labs are great too.

and we wanted to start planning TTC next year.

Thanks...

I have one Falopian Tube but both ovaries. I was told that the body compensates when something like this happens. It was possible that I was going to lose an ovary too and was told I would more in likely ovulate every month from the one. I know the eggs from my left side supposedly travel to the right tube to go down so I can get preggers every month.  This is all in theory, but I do know I got pregnant the first month we tried so either the egg traveled or I ovulated from my right side. LOL

Amazing...I didn't know our bodies could do that...that the egg from the left ovary could travel to the right side to get in the falopian tube!

I don't know the answer to your question - sorry.  It is one I asked too.

I lost a tube due to an ectopic pregnancy in July.

I had my period in mid-July after the surgery to remove the tube.  I then had a period about 6 weeks later in late August.  The next cycle never came because I got pregnant in mid-sept !!!

So it IS possible even with only partial equiptment!

Good Luck.

When I had  one blocked tube I did some research and with one ovary I am pretty sure that you ovulate every other month! You may just want to google some info and see what you find!
Best of luck!

Typically ovulation only occurs every other cycle with one ovary. More frequent ovulation is certainly possible, though. That's usually how fraternal twins happen, when both ovaries pop off an egg during the same cycle!
