Yesterday Aiden was out of sorts.. crying allot(he normally is  such a happy guy) My MIL came over and said he felt hot to her and I took an ear temp and it was 99.9. ( is that high for a baby and ear temp?)he also was "gumming" his hands allot so i assumed OK this is teething??
then last night  he kept waking up(he normally sleeps through the night) he would SCREAM..and was sounding very congested... so I guess he is sick??

His temp this am was the same 99.9.. gave him a tad of Tylenol, rubbed baby oragel on his gums??? any suggestions?? I don't want to take him to urgent care..they are so worthless... not sure if its an ear thing,a cold or???
I cant give him any meds for the congestion right..so maybe a humidifier,??? I was thinking of putting the car seat in his crib and letting him try to sleep in that tonight to elevate his head? He is in the swing right now..ugh ~I don t know.. poor guy.. poor mommy...
I keep thinking where did he  get the bug that made him sick... we did  not hang around anyone sick..but.... we were at Disneyland Thursday??UGH

Those are all great things to do. My sons docs always said as long as it does not go over 101 and stay there not to panic. Keep the heavy clothes off so normal cool air gets to baby. Humidifiers and all are great cause its not meds. They are not into giving meds to little ones as much which is probably a good thing. I hate urgent care and er also. They suck!! They always say its a virus anyway. I would say keep an eye on him and keep doing what you are doing and if he gets worse then take him. Teething does cause a lot of the symptoms though!
Good luck!!

Thanks Shannyn~
I am frustrated ..probably the lack of sleep and sad for him.. I always want to run to the Dr..but if it is a virus.. then there is nothing that can be done... I will have to wait it out.. thanks again:-)

It very well could be his teeth if he is teething. The one thing i did when my babies were teething was,get a cold washcloth and let them naw on that and that helped them, that was 12 years ago for my lastone but you may want to start there.
Have you tried louk warm baths? If it continues i would take him in even if it is urgent care and u dont like that place.I cant stand urgent care either, those places drive me bats!!!

If he's over 3 months then it's just a low-grade fever.  He might be teething...it can cause congestion too.  You did the right thing with Tylenol.  I wouldn't run to the doc...maybe call if it gets over 103.  I know that sounds high but they usually don't want to see the kids unless it's over that and gone on for over 3 days.  I just went thru this with Kellen.  He was 103 for 3 days and they wanted me to bring him to Urgent Care if it went on one more day.  It broke on the 4th day!

Good luck.. just don't bundle him too tight or let him get too cold.

yes, He is almost 4 months( on the 20th)..so I knew that they(Dr's) say to wait with a fever that they really are helpful to let the fever do its thing..but I cannot handle thinking he miserable or dealing with the fussiness... so I grab the Tylenol:-)
103..wow I would be pretty hysterical..but i know your right..there isn't anything they really can do.. thanks bunches:-)

Whenever my kiddo would get sick like that my routine was basically what you described. Tylenol, sleeping in the carseat, humidifier, and I would use little noses saline and the booger sucker to clear her out every 30 minutes - 1 hour sometimes more often if really congested. When they are young like this, it is really the only thing you can do. :(

Hang in there momma - I hope he feels better soon!
