Finally the doc stuck his finger up me !
I finally had a pelvic exam..... woohoo! (odd thing to get excited over, huh?)
I am 1 cm dialated and 50% effaced. He said the baby is not super-low (position -2? I'm not sure what that means)
So I asked about stripping.....he said that if I was 3+ cm dialated and thinned out that stripping my membrane would probably bring on labor quickly. However, if I was not that far along stripping would probably do nothing..... Since I was only 1cm he did not strip me.
He doesn't like to induce with drugs because that often leads to a greater chance of c-section (and he reminded me babies should come out of the vagina). But, he won't let me go past June 24th (yikes, that's 13 days away!). So he told me to pick a date between now and then that I'd like to use as my "target" date and if we hit that point we'll induce.
He also said he has no major plans this weekend.....so I can feel free to have the baby. LOL. (His son graduated highschool and has a party - but it's only 5 minutes from the hospital so no worries).
I am going back in on Monday for another NST and an "anatomy" ultrasound if I don't go into labor this weekend.
I did go to the mall today (and drove myself) and walked for a couple of hours. I also ate bbq chicken (Boston Market) for lunch !
Now I just have to figure out how to start contractions.... OB said to scrub floors. One of my co-workers said the same thing. I think I'd rather drink castor oil.

I can only imagine how far away the 24th looks to you. That is my day and it seems like forever away, and I am only 37 weeks along. I agree with your dr on being induced, I think that is what caused me to have my emergency c-section.
Your doing great, keep us updated! I bet you go this weekend sometime.

Ok Cindy my suggestion is to have lots and lots of sex, semen actually softens the cervix! And hey it can't hurt well maybe not so comfy and I am sure your hubby won't mind!!
I can't believe how calm you sound because when I was that far along with my first I wanted her OUT!!
So kudos to you!!
Oh and walk walk walk!!

Enema, good for two reasons.
1. Can bring on contractions
2. If you do go into labor you will be all cleaned out so when you start pushing everything is nice and clean....if you know what I mean?

Ok, you had me at "stuck" LMAO. I'm glad you were prodded (now how weird is THAT?!) and that you have some reassurance that you won't be PG forever.
You're almost there, girl!
