UNCOMFORTABLE BUT TOTALLY DOOABLE!

I had it done when I was 36 1/2 weeks along (needed to deliver early due to complications w/kidney stones). Spotted a little for a couple of hours, 6 hours later the contractions started and I was in labor & delivery. They had to mannually break my water there (that was not fun) but once they did, my handsome little man was born within 4 hours. This was all about 12 hours after being stripped a day BEFORE my scheduled induction! I say go for it!

Keep in mind....everyone is different. For me, I hated it. I was pretty painful! I'm also one of those who never got a pelvic at all until the membrane stripping, ouch! And to make matters worse, it didn't doa thing for me. It's a chemical thing that puts you into labor....

Hi Cindy, it hurt me like a MOTHER and did absolutely nothing for labor.  I also bled a little.  That is it

Good Luck!

It made me cramp really bad, and didn't help me go into labor.  But, since you are over 40 weeks, it may not be so bad.
Best of luck!
