I don't usually pipe in, but had to in this case, it brought back memories.

My MIL told us we needed to use a Bible name for our son.  I told her okay, we will name him Methusla (sp???- don't have my Bible with me).  The oldest living person in the Bible.  So when we decided on his name, Caleb Michael, she was happy, but I did  not name him for her and the Bible.  I wanted my dads name in there somewhere - Michael - and Caleb just worked so well.

So if we decided to have another one and it is a girl it will be Elena Marie.  I am sure I will catch hell for it not being from the Bible.  But oh well.  My child my choice.

Braydon James is a great name.

Good luck to you.

I learned with my first baby not to share the name until the baby arrives.    Everyone.. especially family.. is so opinated and will tell you exactly what they think about the names you have picked out.  Don't listen!   It's your baby!   This is your choice and no one elses... maybe your BF can have a little say. :)
Oh and I love the name Braydon!!!!!   I almost named my son Braydon but changed at the last minute and just went with Brady.   My mom hated the name at first.. but now Brady is Brady and he is the cutest and I love the name!!!!! :)

I also got lots of flack for the name I picked with Zander... I got why don't you call him Alexander and then shorten it? Or just plain old " I don't like that"... But I'm with everyone else on this one too hon, who cares what everybody else thinks/says... He is YOUR SON, not theirs...

I personally like the name Braydon James... It's cute!

I think it sounds great. I dont go by first and middle initials so I cant see why someone would just use the BJ as initials. I think people are just childish and who gives a crap what they like and dont like. This one from someone who named their boys Damayin Lamont and Jarrid Blade. Noone was crazy about those either but oh well!! They are alright with them and I love the names so who cares who else likes them. Love it though!!

Its your baby, you get to name it.  When they push a baby out, they get the naming rights.  BTW, I have a BJ myself... worse yet a BJM (BM!).  We had 2 names picked out going into labor, and neither were him when we met him.  We knew the middle name was going to be Joseph after my grandfather, but when I asked our newborn what his name was... "Bryson" popped into my head.  It was never a name we even considered or thought of, but it stuck right away!  It wasn't until a couple of days later that I realized what his initials were.  Oh well, if he hates it he can change it, but that's up to him!

I love the name! My BFF named her daughter Ramsie and I thought it was a silly name but whatever her baby- OMG it is perfect for her! I look at her and think she would not fit any other name.

Difference is I kept my thoughts to myself. Screw the others!
