I just weaned my twins after two yrs and 6mths of breastfeeding.  I have gained about 60pds from pregancy and from the breastfeeding and now that I  have weaned them my Doc. says I should be able to loss the weight again, but I need advice from anyone who has had the same problem.  I had surgery in 2004 and I haven't come this far to fail!! I feel like a Failer!!

HELP!!

We had the same surgeon. Tons of people gain after the micropouch. I think it is because the stoma stretches when they make the pouch too small. Of course they don't tell you that when they advertise no revisions. They were a bunch of liars then and an out of business bunch of liars now.

With that off my chest, unless you want a revision then you will have to diet and exercise the weight off if your pouch doesn't work any more. My stoma is wide open so I coun't calories and limit my portions. We are still nursing but it hasn't had an effect on my milk at all.

You are not a failure, I had my surgery at Cori about 7 months before you. I know what I was told/sold. Good luck with getting the weight off.

I read it, you can delete it now LOL. The whole Cori system treated us like a cattle call. Get them in, get them out, make them wait 3 hours in the waiting room and hope they never come back.

The day before my surgery I get a call saying that they never even contacted my insurance and that I was not approved. The same thing happened to my friend Durinda except she was ON THE FRICKING TABLE getting ready to be cut open.

Not everyone loses while nursing. I don't give my children any formula at all so I think I over eat in order to make sure I have healthy milk.

I'm glad you survived your surgery. That must have been pretty awful. I did well for the first 9 months, got pregnant and was told I had to eat all the time. I did that and stretched the stoma.

OMG again.  They made lots of errors with my insurance too.  Dr. S. waived the percentage (20%) of his surgical fee BECAUSE the day before surgery (they too changed my date 3x's and notified me one day before that they scheduled the OR for me in the AM) anyways the day before surgery, they informed me that they would be out-of-network after they told me they were in.  So error, error, error, the anesthesiologist didn't wave his 20%, and my insurance worked something out with the hospital.  I still had to pay, pay, pay .  I thought I did 3 years worth of research, but I was so darn naive!!!  We live and learn.  I'm not angry.  I am so happy that my surgery finally works and that I have more opportunities as a result of my WL.

Hey that pouch thing is insane - it defeats the entire purpose of the surgery.  Sure you are hungry if nothing stays in that little stomach!!!  I commend you for having the courage to fight the fight and win by losing the weight despite it all.

Best,
Leila

Thank you so much, let me say that I didn't know that Cori
s was out of business!!! But, I want to get back on track.  I have never thought about a revision maybe I need to look into it, but I am going to try the 5 day test and see what it shows.  I can honestly say that I have to eat off a kids size plate or a small saucer plate and still dont eat it all, but I have noticed that I eat in my sleep,  I FEEL SO HUNGRY AT NIGHT THAT I EAT, but I am trying to get out of that habit (any advise on that one),  but I am really hoping that since I have stopped breast feeding the weight loss will start up again.
