My little guy was a spitter upper too!  I tried everything... even those Dr. Brown bottles.. he was on some medicine for reflux also.. nothing helped.   I would keep him in his bouncer for 30 minutes after a feeding.   In the end I just had to deal that he was a spitter upper.    It sucked but he was a happy baby otherwise.   The spitting up never caused him to get upset.
Sorry I don't have any advice.  Just wanted you to know that we have something in common. :)

Has he been checked for pyloric stenosis? My friend's baby had major trouble with reflux + pyloric stenosis. it might be worth asking his doctor about it.

Matthew is a spitter..he's on his 3rd different medicine (Zegerid) for his reflux.  Your LO may need an adjustment of his Zantac dosing.  Zantac is weight based so if he's been on the same dose a while might be a good idea to call your pedi and let him know so they can up the dose.  Our gi dr said that some babies are spitters and some aren't.  Sounds like you and me both just happened to get spitters. We use Similiac Alimentium formula and add 1 tsp of rice cereal per ounce.  He doesn't spit up no where near as much as he used to  with the rice cereal added.  I would give that another shot but using the formula your currently using.  You can add up to 1 tablespoon per ounce but our pedi recommended starting with 1 tsp and it worked for us.  I was told that by around 4 months the acid production peaks and that is why sometimes at 4 months it starts to get worse.  He did say that by the time they are eating solids and able to sit up its usually gone.  If not then it may continue until they are walking.

Thanks Tracy,,I am actually going to call the Dr..you made a great point about the dose of Zantac might not be enough.... he is growing so fast.
I also notice he is not only spiting up formula..but clear stuff(what i assume to be saliva).. I think he is teething...anyway It does seem to be worse last few days.... so he is at almost that 4 month mark... thanks again

Tricia,

When I spoke to our gi pedi dr he said that the clear mucous stuff is the acid that he is burping up.  I always thought it was saliva too but he said that its the acid.  I hope your dr gets his dose upped so it will help.
