Dry Heaving???
Morning ladies...so the past week I have joined the ranks of puking pregnant ladies...I have had morning/early afternoon sickness for a few weeks now and just last week actually started vomiting. My question is that most of the time I don't actually throw anything up TMI-it is normally just a clear thick substance like mucous. Does anyone else have this problem? I have only thrown up actually something I have eaten twice...
this morning while brushing my teeth i had another episode and of course i hadn't eaten anything yet and I had the distinct feeling that I was cramping up my intestines as I was dry heaving...Just wondered if i am the only weirdo out there? lol
Thanks in advance for your input!

No your not the only one. I heave EVERYTIME I brush my teeth. If I don't throw up then I dry heave. Usually when I have no food in my belly I dry heave. If the morning sickness gets to bad get a script for Zofran I just recentely got the kind that you put under your tongue and it dissolves. It's better than the pills it starts working faster. Hope that helps!!

Do you use Colgate toothpaste? When I was pg a hundred years ago w/my now 14 year old son...I couldn't use Colgate toothpaste, I had to switch to Crest (which I despise), because everytime I brushed my teeth, I hurled. The nurse in my dr's office told me she had the same problem w/Colgate. Even if you don't use Colgate, try switching brands to something else and see if that helps.
Re the rest of the puking...I hope you're feeling better soon. I know several people have mentioned some meds that help w/it if it's very bad. Hopefully they'll chime in w/the names of them for you.

Nah, I'm another weirdo! I second what Holly posted and switched to cinnamon toothpaste, much better! I also sucked on ice cubes as soon as I was up, then it wasn't just dry heaving or "foamies".
TMI, but I dry heaved so much that I would get red dots and splotches all over my face and eyelids from broken blood vessels. DEFINITELY better to keep at least fluids in your pouch at all times.
I hope it improves soon!

I would start feeling nauseous on my drive home from work and never knew if I'd actually get sick. If I did it was often dry heaves or mucousy foam because I hadn't eaten dinner yet. I lived on saltines and ginger tea at night. It slowed down by the 4th month and was totally gone by the middle of the 5th. Take care.
