OT Well the 5 day test is over!!!

I can't believe that it is over!!! I am down a total of 9 pounds and the plan is to keep going!!! What amazed me the most is how much carbs and sugar make you tired and not have very much energy. I am going to still keep using some of the things from the diet and incorporate that into my regular diet. I also am amazed at how this does reset your pouch. I can't gulp water any more and I am going to follow the 30 minute rule before and after eating. I was drinking during eat and thus make food just go straight now and not getting to that full feeling.

Thanks for all of the encouragement and support from this board. I appreciate it.

9lbs in 5 days?  Wow, that is freaking wonderful!!!!!  I have been thinking lately I need to do the 5 day pouch test also I have about 23-33 more lbs I would really like to lose. And I have kind of gotton off track as far as not eating much protein,and allowing carbs and sweets back into my diet.  And its funny you say it it makes you tired and makes you not have much energy.  Because I sure feel it, and I could not figure out why.  Time to get back on track!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My only problem is, where do I start?  I haven't a clue how to even do this 5 day pouch test.  I know it's only liquids or something for a few days then mushie foods or something, right?  Would you mind helping me out as far as telling me how you do it? Thanks so much, and congrats, 9lbs is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Julia

I used the website www.5daypouchtest.com
I couldn't have done it with out the website. It gives you ideas and even some recipes to help you through. I know that the first 2 days are the hardest!!! It is like you are just out of surgery. Clear sugar free liquids, broth, protein shakes etc. You can have as much as you want on any of the days.

That is freaking awesome!!!!  Congrats.  If I lost 9 lbs I would be to goal, again.  Hmm.  I wrote everything down that I would need to do this.  Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and do it, huh?  You did a fantastic job.

That is awesome!! I agree about the carbs making you feel sleepy. I eat carbs now but whole grain/high fiber and it doesn't make you feel drugged like simple sugars do.

Congratulations on sticking to it! I have heard it is really hard the first few days.

Stephanie- after I read your post it got me all excited to do this.  I typed Five Day Pouch test in the OH search engine and I also found the website that you used and i have been browsing through it.  I am so excited.  I just need to go grocery shopping to get some of this stuff, then I am bound and determined, I am going to do it!!!!!!
