Anatomy Scan Tomorrow
Hi--
Tomorrow morning is our anatomy scan. I'm 18 weeks today and I'm so eager/anxious it's possible I won't sleep tonight. My husband will be coming with me....this will be his first ultrasound since we graduated from the IVF clinic at around 8 weeks.
I look forward to seeing how the baby is progressing. Considering I still don't feel pregnant, I need the visual confirmation, y'know? Intellectually, I KNOW I'm pregnant and listening to the heartbeat on the doppler helps. But, otherwise, I just don't feel it. I'm hoping that learning the gender will help be bond with the baby until I can begin sensing movements.
I'm so happy that we have the first appointment of the day....it's quite possible I'd burst with anticipation if it were any later in the day!

I must admit that I felt the exact same way you did at 18 weeks. I didn't feel pregnant, because I wasn't really showing, my pregnancy symptoms had almost completely disappeared, and my baby didn't move much - but once I found out the gender - it was completely different. I could then really go and get things for him. And I was completely sick of calling him "the baby" - it was so nice to call him by name and tell people that I was having a son and not just a baby.
Good luck and keep us updated!

Yeah! I am excited for you. It is a great experience. I was surprised with Emma, but this time I would like to find out. With my luck the bugger will cross its legs! It won't be long until you feel movement. I am pretty overweight still and have a large panni. I think I felt Emma at 21 weeks....but this one I felt flutters a couple of weeks ago and movement starting last week. I think it is just because I know what it feels like now. Either way it is incredible to feel your lo moving around. Good luck tomorrow. Hope it eases your mind and you can really start believing! Shari
