Don't laugh....

I've been considering using cloth diapers on my baby...y'know....once s/he's here and all. (I'm not even half way there yet!)

I'm still in the research stage and have been grilling my friends who have used cloth diapers. Anyone here have experience with modern cloth diapers? So far, it seems that I've seen/heard alot of positive things about BumGenius 3.0 diapers.

We tried them with Lore... but she skin is sooo senative that the cloth diapers rubbed her raw if I didn't get her changed ASAP when she was wet... it just didn't wick away the moisture fast enough... but it was easy to wash them... air drying wasn't an issue... but she pees so much at night we could never use them at night and the whole rub raw stuff... so after a few weeks we gave up... not sure if I am going to try with this one or not since I'm working this time...

Oh boy... I have heard that they are really hard to handle.. smelly..and babies get rashes easily in them..I couldn't do it..with as many diapers you change with a newborn.....no way:-) I am a pampers queen lol.( I have 2 in diapers..sigh)

I used pre-folds and covers with the triplets and we loved them, in our case it prevented rashes and we felt good about the choice we where making for the enviorment (and our pocket books!). For this one, I have a friend who is sending me some AIO's and pocket diapers to try, she says they are even easier then pre-folds, so I guess we shall see. I never tried the BumGenius, but have heard ok reviews about them.

I sold every single diaper I had from the triplets (along with covers and snappies) so right now I am thinking about a starter pack from Motherease, because they have the one size diapers and I have heard amazing things about their air-flow covers and wool soakers (I am also going to try my hand at knitting a few wool soakers from recycled wool sweaters, but who knows when I will get to that LOL), and then some Fuzibuns for night time (they have pockets for adding extra stuffing so no night time leaks). Not sure if I will go the AIO route because I have heard that they take a long time to dry after washing, and I am a bit of a procrastinator so I know I would get stuck with a dirty kid, no diapers and everything clean still being wet LOL
