i dont think its teething.. wouldnt cause ****s like that.... allergies to solids would cause a rash on more then just his cheeks... i dont think he would become a poop machine that fast if developing an intolerance to lactose... but i could be wrong... im going with a belly bug... he was around lots of strangers.... im glad you had a good trip... OHHHH how did the plane ride go? we leave wed... i have almost everything packed execpt... spoons.. bottles... that crap

I kind of think it may be a bug too...and now he has a cough too....DAMNIT....but I am all over that with his breathing treatments.....the great thing is he is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy and playful regardless.....but my DH is like "Oh great....he got sick on the trip" and I can see what is going on his head "We cannot take him out"....he is SOOOOOOOOOOOO protective....I keep telling him we cannot keep him in a bubble....he laughs and says his gerbils or hamsters always liked rolling around in a ball when he was little....lol....dork!

Anyway, the plane trip went great......here is my advice:

- Sucking on take off and landing (got tips on that right here on this board :))...so have a paci or bottle
- Someone suggested Tiger Balm behind his ears...I did not get that bought....
- Backpack...one of Nathan's diaper bags is a backpack and it was perfect! Put it on my back and carrying him was so much easier....
- Security Line....this was by far the crappiest part....since I was by myself....so, be TOTALLY prepared with all of stuff you have in little bags, etc to be pulled out quickly.....make a friend in line....I had a lady here in ATL that had a 3 month old behind me and we helped each other....TSA held Nathan while you have to fold up your stroller, break down the car seat, etc. Then I held hers, etc....we held up the line for a bit but who cares...here in ATL we have a line just for families.....so people who chose to come behind us should have been prepared...lol....but be totally ready here....that was so much more stressful
- If you have to change him on board....make sure you bring your extra mat to lay him down....there is not many places to do that....had to put mat down on toilet....nice....I so still question how people do the deed in those little lavatories :)

Luckily on the way home yesterday I went up to get the check tag for the stroller and car seat and the dude blocked off ALL three seats in my row since the plane was not that packed...I was able to bring the carseat on board and lock him in...it was so nice.....

Cannot wait to hear how your trip goes...and hey, how did the date go? :)

Poor Nathan and poor Mommy! I'm thinking stomach bug. Whenever my kids had the scoots, it was either a reaction to antibiotics or a stomach bug. Stay consistent with the formula and solids as switching now can actually cause more tummy troubles. Does he still have a good appetite? Is he drooling? Does he have the usual amount of wet diapers? Are his lips moist and not chapped? These are all positive signs that he isn't dehydrated.

Pedialtye is good. The fever can cause the facial rash. Aquaphor was/is my favorite for facial and diaper rashes. I would run it by your ped on Monday just to make sure they don't want to see him, and for your own peace of mind.

Depending on the solids you've introduced, we always go back to the BRAT (bananas, rice, apples, toast) diet when the kids are sick. For baby years, it was , baby food bananas, rice cereal, baby food apples, and small bites of dry toast.

Hope you still managed to have a good time in Boston and I'm really glad Nathan didn't mind the flights! Next is your trip to VT lol

Hugs to you,

Jo

VT is one of my 6 states I need to get to to sign off on the 50 state tour :) I would love it!!!!!

Thanks for the advice....I have been giving him pedialyte the last day and no vomiting today...and he had a more solid poop recently...even though he has pooped three times today :) It is also weird to see purple pee in the diaper from the pedialyte...

I will not change formula....you are the second one to give me that advice....so Thanks Dr. Jo :)

I did give him cereal and bananas today and am sure that is helping....yea, I hate the rash and it gets better and then not...and has a little cough again...dangit....but doing breathing treatments for that....Nate is going to be single dad next week while I have to travel for work so I need to get Nathan fixed as much as I can or else Nate is going to stress out....ugh...

How is my little Everett doing? I still need to get your thingy in the mail...ugh....THIS WEEK!

xoxo
