Friday Rants & raves

Alright so I haven't seen this around in a while but I need to today!

First let me start off with  how blessed I feel to be 9 weeks pregnant - less then 2 weeks until our first ultrasound! YAY!!

and onto the rant...

I work with 97% MEN - now typical men (especially the "tough union men" in a fabrication shop) stereotypcailly can't find a gallon of milk in the fridge - well of course mine have to pick out any and every little mistake that I make. Today on a work order (They KNOW the front page negates anything else behind it as far as quantity fabrication etc - we usually don't get an opportunity to revise our drawings before they are approved for production - actually NEVER - so they are approved with revisions) well I had a work order that in 3 places says SINGLE FACE meaning that the back is blank - well in one corner tucked away somewhere it said double face - instead of questioning it they make it double face and give me a ration of hell when I call them on it - the sign isn't finished, no big deal, put some caulk in the holes and move it to paint - it goes MONDAY! come on people!!

The rant is about my hubby - two fold actually. I love the man to death and he is very helpful and supportive and thoughtful most of the time. Well lately I feel like I can't get a break. Now I know that birthday's aren't about the presents but it is one of 2 times a year we do gifts for eachother - Birthday's and Christmas. (and he better get mother's day in there next year! lol) We don't do anything for our anniversary - cards, flowers for me and a nice dinner at home. Well he decided to make me an easel for my b-day, great make me something -but how about something I can USE! I only painted in college because it was a required course! I go all out for his b-days spending months planning and prepping something that I know he needs and loves.

Now the other rant - also about hubby.  OK so I am pregnant, I am not asking for the world but a little help maybe? The last few nights I have been so sore - I feel like someone is pumping up my insides with a basketball pump - just pressure - those stretching feelings and my back/neck/shoulder are sore and achy - not to mention sinus headaches and a stuff nose. I am not one to complain - he asked how I felt and I told him - I asked if when he got home from work - around 10pm if he would rub my shoulders for 2 minutes to help ease the headache - nope too tired and his back hurts too. I haven't had 1 pregnancy symptom that doesn't seem to have! Everytime I answer his question honestly and tell him how I feel and ask for something to make it feel better he feels the same way. UGH! Don't get me wrong I LOVE being pregnant but not all of it is a walk in the park and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I know this was long and I know I am emotional but I needed to vent to people who understand!

Thanks Ladies!

Liz- I hear you girl!  You know what I got for mother's day (my first as a biological mother?)- I got a card that he allowed  my adopted daughter to buy when I was there...she put it in the envolope and made the baby spit seal it..no signature, nothing.  I got nothing other then that from my family.  Nice.  I try hard not to hold grudges, so I want to get him something special for father's day.  Then I will have to hear from my adopted daughter, he's been a father.  Why from Sophie, blah, blah blah.  Her jealously and lack of understanding makes me want to slap her, I've tried explaining...but she just doesn't get it because she never had anyone til us treat her special...so she doesnt get children are miracles (especially all that most of us have been through after years of infertility, medical problems, etc).
Oh- and my husband doesn't do squat when I am pregnant for me...literally I get the same crap- "well my feet hurt too, I ache too".  Last night, I was sick as a dog (horrible respitory infection was at the Dr's and all- oh and since I am the only income...I was WORKING too!)...I want to relax, but baby came home sick from daycare...so I get the sick, fussy baby, on top of me feeling like poop so he can watch my daughers last softball game.  Umm, yeah-HELLO I'm pregnant, sick, tired, and have to try to help my sick little one alone. NICE!  It's a good thing I love him or he'd be dead.
Oh-work- I won't even go there. My oldest said "your going to work?!"  YEP! I explained, rain, snow, sleet, hail, flu, respitory issues, pregnant, sick as a dog, healthy- I'm at work. Being a responsable adult is so much fun!

Frankly, I'm just tired of people talking out of their asses.

I'm also tired of people trying to get pregnant because they think having a baby would make a great fashion accessory.

Newsflash:  If you cannot afford your rent, live paycheck to effin paycheck, cannot afford to have food in your house......CLOSE YOUR LEGS AND PUT A JIMMY HAT ON HIS STICK!

The End!

Oh yeah, while I get that you are hormonal, etc., I think what your husband did was sweet.  At least he remembered your Birthday.   Maybe he thought you would want to get back into painting/drawing because you have a baby coming.  You know so you could paint pictures for the babies room.   Just a thought.   You also need to remember that men are dumb and unless you specifically tell them what you want, they don't have a clue.

And for those of you sitting at your computers thinking, "but my man is thoughtful and gets me sweet stuff all the time" see the first sentence of my rant.   You probably told him 6 months prior and he made a mental note.   : P

Thanks Julie - you are right, it was sweet. Maybe I will paint something for the baby's room. Thanks for some perspective! Now I can't paint pictures of gift ideas for the future! lol

Thanks you always seem to make me laugh! Your posts are great!

AMEN!!  I also hate it when people have a baby because it just makes everything better.  HARDLY!!!  Having a baby (or two) is not a walk in the park.  Oh how this reminds me of my brothers ex-girlfriend.  Thank God he finally kicked her to the curb!  All I say when I hear her name is WHITE TRASH!

I normally don't post vents but today I thought I would.  Mine really isn't a vent about anyone but myself, and it is kinda silly.  I have been going to Curves for a month now and did my one month measurements yesterday.  I lost .5lb, .3% body fat and .75 inches in my waist, but NOTHING ELSE.  My waist doesn't need to get any freaking smaller, my ass and thighs do!!  I don't get it.  Plus, the other day I was walking down the hall at work and disgusted myself by looking down and see my nice skin just hanging out under my shirt wiggling around.  It makes me so sick.  I had never noticed it to be so bad before but have come to the conclusion that it is because I have been working out.  I am firming up everything underneath and my skin is just hanging out becoming more noticeable and jiggly.  It is gross.  We are buying a boat next week and I actually thought about taking that money and getting a tummy tuck instead, maybe I will feel better then.  I really want a boat though and I really shouldn't have a tummy tuc****il after I finish having babies (will be a few years).  I feel so unattractive it is pathetic.

On a good note.. Libby starting crawling yesterday.  She just picked up and off she went.  I am used to babies crawling backwards first, nope not Libby.  She also went to the doctor yesterday for an evil diaper rash that she has had off and on for a month now.  She is a petite 16lbs 10 oz.  :-)
