If you like Brennan go with it.  Who cares what other people like.  That was one of my biggest pet peeves is everybody telling me what they thought of the names I was thinking about.....I mean if you put it out there like this post, and ask what people think, that's different.  But if you don't ask, I hate when people insist on telling you.  Annoying.
Since you asked, I like Brendan better for a boy, but whatever makes you happy is what you should do.....
I didn't officially decide until about a week before Sophie was born.  It was driving me insane obsessing about names.  Then one night, we were watching a movie and it had a girl in it named Sofie, and I looked at hubby, told him, "What about Sophie?"  And we just knew right there it was our baby's name.  :)  There will be a moment when you'll just know.  Maybe when you see him for the first time?  Good luck to you!  7 weeks will be here soon!

If Mallory had been a boy her name would have been Brennan. It's classy and not super common. Brendan makes me think of Brendan Fraser and those dumb movies he does. LOL But that's just me.
