oh and like Erika my son  didn't get the rotovirus..He is 3 months and has had one shot..will be doing one a month from here out.He had DTaP the daptel  brand.. (the book tells what brands and what ingredients are in them..not all are the same...beware...

My Dr isn't necessarily in favor ...but when i took my Dr Sears book in..he was way better about it. Dr Sears isn't a extremist..so he wasn't feeling like I was doing a crazy off the wall schedule you know..
many Dr freak out if you start talking no immunizations..but if you print the schedule in the Dr sears book and give them a copy..I bet you will find they will be OK with it.. besides. this is your child..so don't be bullied.

The only thing that my daughter didnt get that my son did was the chicken pox vac. we both had the vax and ended up with a terrible reaction so I ever got it for my daughter.

I know of people personally that delayed or didnt vax at all and regret every moment there kids are sick ALL THE TIME!!! I mean constantly.. We talk once or twice a month and they are always sick and are throwing up, sinuses.. anything and everyting. He littlest got the chicken pox and gave it to the other two.. Then like 6 months later got the german measles and was hospitalized for two weeks. She was very bad.

Hope you make the right decision either way!!!

Hello there!
Unless you decline, your baby will be given the Vitamin K shot, a Hep B vaccine, and a gel in his or her eyes for STDs.  Its completely your choice to decline all three if you choose to after researching the pros and cons. I speak only for myself, but we will not be doing any of these as I think they are not neccesary for our baby. I KNOW we don't have STDs so the gel isn't needed, the Vit K is for blood clotting and bruising (we're having a girl, so no circumcision clotting issues here, and most bruising is gone in a day), and the Hep B can wait.

I agree that you should check out Dr. Sears' book ... it's pretty amazing!
Hope that helps!

We're following Dr. Sear's alternative vaccination schedule.  Elijah had HepB and VitK at birth and then vaccinations every month through seven months, Hep B at 9 months and then no more until he's a year old.  We showed the pediatrician the schedule, explained why we wanted to do it this way, he gave his feedback and we went with our (Dr.Sear's) schedule.  Only modification was the Hep B.
