My first appointment is on the 18th and it's only a registration appointment I don't think i'll even be seen!

I tried to make an appointment with a family practice doctor who might be able to do all my labs before I see the OB/GYN but the soonest i can been seen is the 28th!

I'm scared that something is wrong or that something will go wrong from now until my frist appointment or form now until they decide to see me.

The only thing I could do is call my insurance and ask them to change my doctor to someone who can take me sooner rather then latter but I don't know how long that process would take and I have to use a general practitioner who will then refer me to an OB/GYN so that would require me to cancel the appointment I already have and risk not getting an appointment until after the original one which totally defeats the purpose of changing my PCM in the frist place.

I want a sonogram to see that everything is ok. I want my blood work done! and my husband is driving me crazy. He wants a blood test to make sure i am really pregnant! GAH!

the office may not even DO a blood test for pregnancy since you've had pos tests at home.  they'll do a urine and that might be it. a white lie might get you seen sooner.

say you aren't sure when your last period was.  you aren't sure how far a long you are.  that should do it.  :)  even if you already told them you know, say you went back and checked your calender and you didn't mark xx date or whatever and that you are almost sure you are mistaken.

Cristy I'm not going to lie - you have just begun worrying. I'm 31 weeks and still check the TP every time I go to the bathroom, tap on my tummy when I don't feel him move, etc. etc. You're naturally going to be worried and you have your entire pregnancy to keep worrying (and then from what I told the rest of your life continuing to worry!)

It seems like a long wait - but before you know it, it'll be here and your next appointment will have already passed as well. It seems like a week ago I came to this board to introduce myself and I was only 6 weeks!

Try not to stress - it's not good for you or the baby.

My OB won't see ob patients until they are at least 8 weeks. They won't do an ultrasound until 12 weeks. The only way that I was able to get ultrasounds is that my RE is doing them. He won't do an ultrasound until you are confirmed to be 6 1/2 weeks or later because that is when they get a for sure heartbeat.

I know it seems like a long time. Hang in there and you will be there before you know it. If you are having any kind of problems: cramping, bleeding, or etc just call them and I am sure you will be able to be seen. Are you a new patient or an existing patient?

Im a new patient. I just moved here. That is another reason im feeling uneasy. I feel like if i was back home i would have already been seen by now.

I know it is hard. Try to remain calm and stay positive. The 18th is not that far away. Maybe they will do something on the 18th. At least blood work to let you know your numbers. We have ALL been in your shoes. I can't wait to see my OB on the 15th and I like you don't think it will be anything other than an exam and questions.

We are all here if you need support!

Ok first of all your husband needs to chill LOL.  Pregnant is pregnant, there aren't false positives :)

Secondly, you have to breathe.  I'm not seeing my regular OB until I'm at 10 weeks!  I'm seeing a high risk doctor tomorrow (a little over 8 weeks) but I'm also 40, have a history of miscarriage, and have abdominal mesh which may hinder my ability to get ultrasounds, etc.

You can't control many things about pregnancy and believe me the beginning is one of the worst lessons.   It's a long nine months.

Do your best to relax.  One day at a time is all you can do.
