went and did it this time. Oh jeez someone shoot me now! I did something really silly and went and got myself pregnant. I found out yesterday i am like 6 weeks. I am not quite sure how I feel about this considering the father is a psycho that I don't want to tell and I only have about 50% of my cervix left.

From what my doctors told me prior to this, I will probably wind up on bed rest for the entire duration of the pregnancy. The kicker is, I had an appointment Monday with a surgical oncologist to discuss my hysterectomy options. Guess that is out now. I am still having that appointment along with 2 others that day. Fun stuff here.

So on the other side of things, I am almost 2 years out from my surgery and have been maintaining my weight just fine. There is nothing I can't tolerate in my system. Does anyone have any experience with getting pregnant after having the bypass? How does it differ from a pregnancy of someone who never had the surgery?

So many questions to ask, but don't even know half of them yet. Needless to say I am pretty much scared ****less at this point.....

That was my post from last week... People on the PA forum told me to ome here, but I didn't get here...The cervical thing is something like this... I had a colposcopy, LEEP, and cone biopsy and was being recommended for a hysterectomy because I do in fact have the beginning stages of cancer. Am right on the verge of it turning to invasive cancer.

Here is my update from today:

I had my first appointments today. Well I had my appointment with my surgical oncologist this morning. This appointment was the one where he explained exactly what was going on with my cervix and we were going to schedule my hysterectomy today. He supports my decision to try and carry this child to term.

I had an appointment with my OB GYN. She didn't do much because she needs to refer me to the high risk clinic. She did order my ultrasound (8 am tomorrow) and my intial bloodwork. They both agree that I will need to be on bed rest sooner rather than later. They have also both already mentioned that I may only carry to the point where they know they can do a C-section and have the baby be healthy so they can do that and my hysterectomy at the same time. So that the cancer doesn;t have any extra time to develop.

On top of all this, I basically have the father, a man who I love and was going to move to Massachusetts to be with until he went psycho, telling me I am a ***** He is telling me until a paternity test is done that he will not take any kind of responsibility or anything for this child. He is claiming now that his doctors say he is sterile and there is no way this is his child. Blah... I don't need to deal with that.

I have reconnected recently with an old friend from high school who i am getting along with very well and who is absolutely okay with me be pregnant with another mans child. He has even gone as far as to say that when the child is born (implying we will still be together) he will claim the child as his own and raise the child as his own. So screw the man who wants to stress me out during this difficult time. I don't need him or his stress.  My baby doesn't need him or his stress.

Anyway, there is my update. I will update my ticker and let ya'll know exactly how far along I am after my ultasound tomorrow.

WOW, you certainly have a story there with good and bad! I wish you many congratulations on your pregnancy I truly believe everything happens for a reason with that being said I wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy!  I am sure since your cervix is not at it's best they can do a cerlage that is where they sew it up to keep you pregnant longer! I am sure the high risk doc will go over many things with you!!

Again congrats and welcome to the page!

As soon as they get me into the high risk I will be having my cervix measured and another ultrasound on top of the one I am having tomorrow. They told me that I can expect to have a bunch of them! lol

Based on the cervix measurement they will decide if they can do the cerclage or not.

Sounds like everyone is on the same page with you as far as what is going on with the pregnancy.

Personally, if the father is like I would say good riddance. I know that's not fair but emotionally it's prolly for the best.

Good luck with all of this.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Wow, that's quite the journey.  Sounds like a long road ahead and I'm wishing you lots of luck.

You mentioned Geisinger - are you seeing the high risk docs at Moses Taylor?  I'm due to see them on Wednesday.  My regular OB is not Geisinger tho....but I will be delivering at Moses.

Thanks for the well wishes.... I am going to need them.....

I will actually be seeing the high risk doctors in Danville. My OB GYN is in Bloomsburg and my oncologist is in Danville. They want to try and keep all my care at Janet Weiss because of the cancer thing and because i have had two miscarraiges prior to this.

Looks like the same docs - they travel to other facilities.  How did you end up with an OB in Bloom from the WB?  Seems like a haul.

Anyway lots of luck and hoping this one sticks.

When I was married I live in berwick so I used an OB down here. I have used the same one since even after moving back to Scranton and then to Wilkes barre. I just like him! Plus I work in Berwick so it's actually not SO bad. At least for now. Now if I get put on bed rest and mom makes me move in with her that's another story. She lives in Uniondale... EGADS!

 Thanks for the luck!@
