2 1/2 years post-up - pregnant - with severe dumping syndrome

So I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this. I'm 2 and a half years post-up, lost 100 lbs (should have lost more but my body didnt budge) and I'm 12 weeks pregnant. Whats concerning me is that since now that I'm pregnant my dumping syndrome sky rocketed. I've tolerated very selective types of sweets and multi-grain foods but now there is no way I can consume almost any of it.  So bad that the doctor send me to take the glucose test to test for gestational diabetes and OMG, I thought I was gonna die. The fluid burned my pouch, almost immediately the room started spinning, my heart rate excelerated, I developed a shortness of breathe and to the bathroom I had to be rushed to throw up.  Now two days later my I have faint chest pain and my heart rate still excelerates at no given time.  Now I've noticed that I seem to be getting dumping syndrome with almost anything I eat.  I've actually lost 5lbs since I found out I was pregnant.  My primary doctor says its probably anxiety but this doesnt feel like it.  Has anyone experienced this?  Sorry I've been the misfortunate one to experience almost any mishap with everyy surgery I have (so to say a year ago I had surgery for an intestinal hernia repair that should have caused intestinal paralysis but I was smart enough to drink milk of magnesium as soon as I realized how constipated I was)... so I dont think I'm being paranoid.

I had my WLS a month before you and there is NO WAY I would have ever taken the glucola. I rarely dump except from a select few things but sugary drinks make me SO sick. My OB gives me a 2 hour fasting blood test once a week. I tested abnormal for one of the tests about 7 weeks ago so I have had to do it weekly since and its been normal. I go in fasting and get drawn then I go eat and come back 2 hrs on the dot after and have it drawn again. I would ask my doctor if this was a possibility for the future... according to my OB this is the way that it is generally done for anyone who cannot tolerate sugar.

Thank You. I have my appt with my OB this Friday, hopefully that will be the solution for me as well. I did take the glucola test once had minor dumping but it did come out with high results, it was the second 3 hour test when I was fasting where I had major issues.  But thank you very much.

My sugar tolerances change a lot too when I am pg. Usually I can handle 25 grams of something sugary, but while pg, maybe 5-10 and I always start to get dumpy. For me it is a blessing because it keeps me on track. But, yours sounds a bit extreme. Do you have severe nausea too? Maybe it is a combination of nausea and dumping and they can give you a med for the nausea to help out? Also, what helps me is to never let my stomach get empty... I eat probably 8 small snacks a day. I know against the grain of wls, but when you are pg, you have to do what you have to do to get the calories in for you and baby. I also take the post peridial food test that the previous poster talked about....no glucola for me. Good luck, and hope it gets better for you. It is important that you eat the carbs you can tolerate too...because ketosis is bad for baby. Shari
