Ok so now the DS question that everyone thinks but no one wants to admit out loud.

How in the world do you consume all these carbs without gas from hell?  I'm having all kinds of trouble - and I really was under control before I was pregnant.  I'm bloated, gassy, and I stink so freaking bad - my poor husband.  And it's all day and all night - no rhyme or reason - I know I"m consuming more food and more carbs than normal but this is not right.

HELP.

I was going to ask something similar regarding "oil slicks".

First --   the gas.  I found my digestive enzyme helps w/ gas and diahrea slightly.  But it doesn't make the gas go away.  The further into my pregnancy I get the harder it is to "hold" the gas in.  Sometimes the gas just sneaks out because I can't hold it (baby pushing my gas button!) .

I do try to add complex carbs (potatoes, fruit, etc) and that is better than say eating coffee cake and icecream.

I am amazed though that my body tolerates carbs much better now being pregnant than it did before!  I can eat crackers on an empty stomach without problems..... couldn't do that before!

But I always found around my period I could eat more carbs..... so I think pregnancy is a continuation of this.

On the same note -- around my period I ALWAYS had more "oil slicks" in the toilet..... not every month, but if I did get them it was on a "monthly" schedule (after the first year).

Now that I am pregnant I seem to "dump" oil all the time -- and I'm not eating more fat -- if anything I am eating less fat because I am eating more carbs.

Maybe the oil slicks have to do with a combo of carbs and fat?

I wish I had some real help for gas..... besides the digestive enzyme.  I know you take probiotics too....

My husband has stopped commenting on the gas clouds that follow me around at night after a day of eating way too many carbs..... LOL.   I can control it if I don't eat 2 packages of Pop Tarts for dessert !   (Bad, Cindy!)    Before pregnancy 2 packages of Pop Tarts would do way more than give me gas.... I'd have instant diahrea.   Now I just get gas!

It's so annoying that there isn't a one size fits all with this darn DS LOL.  I haven't had an oil slick in years.  But the gas may be the death of me (at the hands of my family).

I take it all - and had it down to a science before I was pregnant - but now, nothing.

Sigh.

I'll have to keep working on it.

Thanks :)
