I feel like I'm going to pass out!
At chruch this weekend and last weekend I had the worst feeling like I was going to pass out. This actually happens quite a bit. I don't know what is causing this. I just got my labs back from my 5/15/09 Dr appointment and everything looked pretty good. I never miss a day of vitamins. I do admit that I don't get the calcium I need and probably don't get all the protein I need either. Could that be causing this?? My hair is also falling out in record numbers! It is all over my entire house! I have very long thick hair so I can't see any difference YET but it is very annoying! I am also still losing weight! I lost 6 or 7 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I just pray baby is ok! Any advice?

I am a professional fainter. I know everything there is to know about fainting. Ok that was a joke but I have fainted quite a bit in my life, all while pregnant.
Fainting is our bodies way of getting blood to the brain. Because you are pregnant up to 30% of your blood volume is going to your uterus. So if you are standing it is very hard for your heart to get that blood back up to your head. If you tend to lock your knees it gets even harder. The best thing to do if you feel faint is to lie on the ground with your feet elevated. I recognize the feeling so early that I have not had a full faint in years because I get down.
There is also blood sugar that could be crashing but since it was at church and you have to stand in one place for a time, I am going with vasodilation as the cause. Good luck. Oh I fainted much more with my girl pregnancies.

as for your hair loss you are in prime time for that post op - looks like your surgery was just the end of January this year - up to 6months-a year you can loose a lot of hair. I found that getting mine cut shorter was a big help - made it less noticable to me - I was loosing HANDFULS of hair and it upset me so I got it cut just above my shoulders- what a difference! Getting in all your protein will help too.
Hope that you are feeling better!

I am actually feeling the same thing. Miuns the hair loss. That stopped for me quite a while ago. The hair loss sounds like it has to do with your surgery... or your not eating enough protein.
Anyways... I feel really faint, literally shaking and feel very sick. But I think my problem is my blood sugar because when I feel that way... I down OJ or chocolate or whatever sugary thing I can find and I sit down. It usually helps. I have started checking my blood sugar to see if that is the problem.
I hope you can figure out your reasons... let us know! :-)

If you have not upped your water that will cause it also. If I dont get in over 100 ounces of water a day I feel like I will pass out way too quick. Protein also has to be much higher. I am on an eat every 2 hour diet and have lost 16 pounds since I got pregnan****er is very important as is the protein to help the baby grow. Hair is going to fall out no matter what. I lose hair still and I am almost 9 months out now. My doctor said it is also normal to lose some hair because of the stress pregnancy places on your body. So just get in as much as possible for the baby. Even when the protein is making me sic****ep sipping away.

My hair fell out until about 9 months after surgery. It really didn't slow down, it just stopped. As for the passing out, It might be the BP. When you feel that way lie down and that will help. Not sure about what else to tell you since I am not preggers (yet) and I am the queen of passing out (or getting close to it) with low BP.
I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

I have several moments like that weekly ... if not daily. I have low BP and low blood sugar thanks to baby (can you believe pre-op I was a diabetic with high blood pressure? LOL!)
Carry food and water with you at all times and when you start to feel out of it, just sit down and eat or drink something.
My baby is doing fine and I was told is not really affected by this ... that as long as I didn't completely loose it or fall... baby should be fine. If you are really worried, of course, as your OB.
I am still losing weight, they said as long as baby grows... no biggie.
Good luck.
