just becareful with the glass if you are going to be putting them in the microwave, if there is any air bubbles in the glass ones they will shatter, same if they get to hot when you are warming them in a pot. Jus****ch them closely when you are warming them.

ETA and warm them WITHOUT the nipples on them, pressure can also cause them to shatter.

That is what I was wondering about.  I also wondered how strong they are, I am a clumsy mom and wondered about dropping them on the tile and wood floors.  But the whole plastic warming up thing is kind of scary too.

I did buy some rubber cases for them to stop them from being slippery and help with breaking if you drop them...

I am clumsy too... so I'll have to play it by ear.  I only bought a couple in case I  hate them!!

I also read somewhere that if you can start your baby off on room-tempature formula (if you have to formula feed) it eliminates the hassle of heating -- and is especially useful while out of the house when you don't have access  to an easy way to heat.

I don't' know anyone who did this....it was just  a suggestion in a magazine.

Thanks!  I will check out the cases, that was my one worry with the glass.
A friend at church gives her little girl room temp formula and she does fine, I will give that a try if the breast feeding doesn't work out.  The heating deal was a pain with my son, he was so picky!  And esp. when you are out and about, that gets old.
You are getting so close!  I am starting to get nervous, don't know why all of a sudden but it seems alot more real now!

We only warmed the bottles for the first few weeks, maybe a month total.  Even with colic I didn't see a difference between warmed and unwarmed.  As long as it's not cold, we're good to go.  So I'm a big supporter of not wasting time and energy on warming.

P.S. because we're not warming them I'm not overly concerned with BPA issues.  I'm using the same Avent 4oz ones we got from the first baby 6 years ago.  Though I am having to buy new on the 8oz ones because they must have gotten lost or overused through the years.  These new ones do seem to leak a heck of alot more unfortunately.

I am not alone, neither are you.

I think we spoiled our son too much, he was a picky little thing with the temp being just right.  We will try to get away with room temp milk this time.  I remember my avent ones leaking when I didn't get the nipple and white thingy on just right.

Sorry I am posting here again.  I'm really into this bottle discussion.  Haha......anyway......  It is not recommended (in my understanding) to EVER warm any bottle of any kind in a microwave.  In my understanding you should only warm the bottle in warm water, either by microwaving a bowl of water and placing the bottle in the already warmed water or by using a bottle warmer (one of my must have baby items)..  If you do it that way, glass is fine except it is heavy when you are holding a bottle up for several feedings a day, I found it to be annoyingly heavy.  I used to use some glass bottles because Medela makes them to go with their breastpumps (they also make plastic ones but they are smaller and hold less).

Playtex drop ins ROCK!!! We tried Avent, Playtex Vent Air, Dr. Browns - ended up with the old school drop ins and couldn't be happier! We don't use the silicone nipples, we use the laytex ones that playtex sells. They don't leak, drastically reduce air, easy, easy, clean up and are BPA safe. :)

the drop in bags are a total PITA - but the drop in liners ROCK! We are good!!! 36 weeks, off of bedrest - and wouldn't you know it not a contraction!!! LOL! *Sigh* this is so my kid! I am ready to have this baby - but know the longer she bakes the better :) I am hoping sometime between 37-38 weeks!

How are you feeling??
