 Hey Amy,
I was able to take benadryl for stuffy nose and regular Tylenol.. my OB also said musinex was OK..but you better ask yours.. a humidifier really helped me and Vick's... hope you feel better.

Tylenol products in moderation are usually. fine I would avoid any of the fizzy stuff (Alka Seltzer Cold or other brands that have the fizz tabs)
Check out safefetus.com for more info....
You can put in the name of the meds and it will give you the FDA pregnancy risk category.
Hope that helps and hope you get better soon....

Sorry you're sick! Every Dr is different, so call before taking anything. They're used to that.

My Dr allowed Tylenol Cold, saline mist, plain Sudafed and Vicks Vapor Rub. But not in the 1st trimester. Spicy salsa and General Tso chicken are my non-medication remedies.

Becareful! I was so sick a couple of weeks ago (had this horrible cold/flu for 2 weeks - was coughing every 2 minutes and peeing!) and it put me into preterm labor! I had an inhaler, and was taking Robitussin CF (nothing with  a "D" though) looking my back my OB said I should have gone back to my PCP again and asked for something stronger. Although they don't really want you to take strong drugs, they would rather get you better than put you into preterm!

You poor thing - I hope you feel better soon!

Well as far as I know I am not preggers "yet" I am in the two week wait. But I have not had a cold for almost 2 1/2 years and none since surgery. My DH and my little girl both have ear infections and I am just really congested and have a bad headache.
I went to the DR. with my daughter this morning and I asked the pharmacist what is ok for me to take as I have gastric bypass. She said the Tylenol sinus is fine it has the pain reliever and nasal decongestant in it. So hopefully it helps. My DD was up from 1;30 until 3:30 in the morning crying. Her little ears were killing her. Poor baby. I think a nap is in order for all of us.
Thanks a lot for all the info.

Hi Amy--

Sorry to hear you are sick.

I just whipped out the packet my OB's office gave me once I became pregnant and it says the following cold medications are safe during pregnancy:

Sudafed
Robitussin
Vicks Vapor Rub
Throat Lozenges
Afrin Nasal Spray (3 day limit)

Hope you feel better soon.
