30 Week Update on Baby Drew
So I had my ultrasound done yesterday and my appointment with my OB today. Everything is looking great with Baby Drew. He is however measuring 2 weeks ahead - he's 4lbs and 12" - they said they could have my date wrong or he could just be an above average baby. Guess only time will tell on that.
As many of you read prior - he was quite the snot the last time we tried to get pictures of him and refused to turn his head. This time however, he was amazing. The tech said he was very photogenetic. Even though every time the wand hit him, he kicked it back - it was actually pretty funny! We got some good shots of his face and in one he was smiling - he has HUGE cheeks, I can't wait - LoL.
I also asked the tech to confirm the gender. Again, some may remember that we were initially told that "there are no boy parts" and then the following week was told that it was boy. Well, since this is the first ultrasound we've had since then (over 12 weeks) - SO has been saying "he's going to come out a girl" - because he's been having some dreams. So I told the tech we needed confirmation - he said "well what were you told?" and I said "well what do you see?" He took less than a minute and then handed me a picture - he said "no doubt about it, this is a boy!" He handed me a picture of what looked like a heart - yep it was his testicals - so Baby Drew is still Baby Drew (this made myself, SO and Grama who has bought a ton of boy things, very happy!)
As far as the OB appointment - Drew's heartbeat is great at 144. Mommy's BP is great. All levels taken 2 weeks ago came back spot on. And I'm up 5lbs (my OB is very happy about this because he complains that I'm not gaining enough) despite my crazy obsession with BBQ Pringles (I'm telling you, I can NOT get enough!)
So we're good. My baby shower is in two weeks and I'm thinking my little monkey is gonna be here sooner than we're expecting - which means I better get on the ball with all the preparations!

LoL~ BBQ Pringles was one of my cravings!! I'm glad baby Drew is good and that he is indeed a boy. I had all sorts of "omg what if he comes out a girl" thoughts even though I had u/s at every appt and knew he was a boy. I was just a worrywart! I'm getting excited for his arrival~ I know he's going to be such a cutie! *hugs*

Congrats Shauna, I am happy to see that 1) Baby Drew is still a boy 2) he is doing well. Isn't it amazing how our bodies create such a beautiful being. Good luck with your baby shower, I had my two weeks ago and I'm still sorting through all the stuff I got for baby Madisyn. I had the u/s tech at my last u/s check the gender again because her godparents went and bought all girly stuff and sure enough, my baby had her legs open and I got pictures of her girly parts. I was so happy. Now I am excited and waiting for my arrival.

Congratulations on a great appointment and confirmation that Drew is ALL boy! Only a few more months to go....
LOL on the Pringles! I too had a huge craving for BBQ, only it was anything cooked in BBQ sauce . In the last few weeks, DH would bring me a BBQ pork wrap every other day and I was in heaven!
