Anyone VBAC after WLS?

Of course I'll have a repeat c-section if it turns out to be the best path for me and my future, yet-to-be-conceived baby, but I would love to attempt a VBAC when I do have another baby.  Did anyone here VBAC after WLS and how did it go?  Are you glad you did it?  Any regrets?  Thanks all!

I had every intention of trying for a VBAC with this baby, but I found out yesterday that my hospital only allows them if you have had one c-section - I've had two.

For some great information about VBACs, go to http://www.ican-online.org/

Thank you.  Bummer on the hospital policy.  Grr!  I appreciate the ICAN link - I forgot all about them.  Good info.

From what I know and understand there is no reason not to try a VBAC if you have only had ONE c-section, it really has nothing to do with having WLS  as your WLS and reproductive orgrans are not related, it all depends on you and your medical history and your OB!

I would totally go for it!! I wish I could but I have already had two sections and have been told that VBACs after two are a big NO!!

Best of luck!!

I'm thinking about it.

I had a vaginal delivery with my son and a planned csection with my daughter.  I think we'll just see what happens??

I only know of one woman off the top of my head that wanted to do a vbac from this forum, but in her case it didn't work out.  She had some complications or the baby wasn't dropping or something.  I can't remember exactly why, but she ended up with a c-section.......so sorry, no info to give you.
If I am ever blessed with another pregnancy, my hope would be to have a vbac but I am terrified of laboring for 24 hours again only to end up with a c section after all.  I was so wiped out emotionally, physically by the time they did my first c section, and if I do a planned c-section, I could be more calm, more rested, etc.  I don't know.  If I did 24 hours labor and ended up with a vbac, it would be worth it.  But to do that again and end up with a second c section, i just don't know about that.  It's a risk worth taking I think, but I'll decide when/if I ever get pregnant again.

I know other hospitals are changing this policy since it really depends more on why one had a previous c-section and how it went.  None of the OBs in my doctor's medical practice, nor the hospital, will do a VBAC, regardless of the reason for the previous c-section.  As a matter of fact, when I had to have Elijah by c-section, I had to sign a document stating I understood that any subsequent deliveries with their practice would be c-sections as well.  WLS had no bearing on this for them.   Good luck!
