I think I am miscarrying

Hi All,

So last night I started spotting and there was definitely a little dark red in there so I think I am having another miscarriage. Today I am still spotting but it is all dark brown (sorry if this is a little tmi). I am going to call and have my doc send over a lab slip to do the bloodwork (I haven't had any done yet) so we'll see in a couple days how that turns out. I don't want to be too hopeful (and I've been trying to guard my heart until this point) but I wanted to ask if anyone out there has ever bled red blood and still been fine?

Hi,

I know of several women who have spotted red blood and have healthy babies...I had brown spotting around 5 weeks it was very light but still raised concern. So far everything is going ok.

Hi sweetie,

I know it is scary when you start bleeding and you know that 'somethings up'.  I am one of those cases in which I was bleeding red blood and everything turned out fine.  I bled from about week 6-9 I think.  Several ultrasounds and no explanation as to where the blood was coming from.  I had 3 miscarriages before that and thought for sure that I was miscarrying again.

I hope all turns out well for you.  Try to relax and go one step at a time.

Hugs and Prayers
B

I have - twice it was a M/C, the third time is now 9 years old :)

Call the doctor, take deep breaths.  You have no control here, unfortunately.  And I so know the guard your heart statement - I'm doing the absolute same thing.

Hugs.  Hope it's ok.

I have not had a successful pregnancy where bleeding was involved...3 m/c...but I do know there are a LOT of women here who will likely chime in who have had very successful pg's w/bleeding.  Numerous of them have gone on to have perfectly healthy babies.  I hope you join those ranks and that your pregnancy continues to be strong & healthy.

Thank you all for your responses. I have an appointment for an u/s tomorrow. It is so hard when it is out of your control (especially for a type A like myself). I really appreciate all the responses though. It gives me a small measure of hope that thing might be OK...maybe.

depending on how early on you are (it sounds pretty early) it could just be your body thinking that you need a period .... you know what i mean? Sometimes bleeding isn't the end. Especially if it's light.

Good luck to you tomarrow. Having had 2 m/c myself, I know how hard they are. Don't give up hope until you absolutely have to. Resigning yourself to the loss doesn't make it any easier.

I will be praying.

I have had the bleeding.  I went in a little over a week ago for bleeding and baby was fine. They found a small subchorionic bleed.  I was also sure I was miscarrying.  I have still had spotting from brown, to dark red, to pink, to everything in between.  I have another ultrasound Thursday morning, but still have pregnancy symptoms and am confident things are fine.

Try really hard to not assume the worst like I did.  It's good that it's brown spotting.  Good luck with the ultrasound

Hi, sweetie.  I only spotted red with implantation, but I do know of others who have and have been fine.   My friend's sister always bled through her entire pregnancies (She has 4 kids now).  She said the bleeding was very similar to a period actually, but her pregnancies were perfect.  I think there is a wide spectrum of what can be ok.  Sorry you are having this happen, and I am hoping everything will be ok.  Have you called the dr?
