First Baby Gift

Today, my in-laws took my husband and me out to my favorite restaurant to celebrate my birthday over lunch. It was a lovely gesture on their part and we had a good time. Even though I have complained about them as of late (bad Paula!) they really are great people and I'm lucky to have them in my life.

At lunch, they presented me with a very nicely wrapped gift and it was a baby toy. One of those Gund rainbow-colored worms that makes different noises on the different segments. I thought it was a thoughtful little gift.

On Monday I'll be 16 weeks pregnant. I'm beginning to feel very awkward about the fact that I don't feel/believe I'm pregnant. I'm hoping that I truly, truly believe it soon. I plan on using my fetal doppler tonight before bed....just can't get enough of the heart beat sound.

Happy Belated Birthday Paula!!

Wow I can't believe that you are already 16 weeks.  I have been so out of the loop of late.

You are blessed to have in laws that care.

As soon as you feel the baby moving you will then believe that you are truly pregnant. Enjoy your pregancy and best wishes.

Hugs,

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

Aww, that is sweet.  That is one of the first toys I bought for my 5 year old when I was still pregnant with him.  Just yesterday I was going through his old clothes and found it, it is so cute.
Don't worry about not feeling pregnant, I felt the same way.  Once you start feeling the baby move, it will seem alot more real.

Happy Belated Birthday Paula....

Glad you had fun and inlaws who care....everyone gets on our nerves when we are pregnant :)

Love the toy too....how cute.....

Yes, once you start feeling the kicks and learn the sex (if you are going to do that) you will feel more and more like you are pregnant....I am sure the doppler helps too....I was going to do that and I never ended up getting one....glad you like it!!!!

Happy belated b-day!  Don't worry about complaining about in-laws...just because they can get on your everlasting nerves doesn't mean you don't care for them...just that you don't want to live w/them or be attached at the hip w/them!

I agree that in a few weeks, when you feel your little bean kicking around, you'll really start to feel it...and as he/she gets bigger and starts playing rugby w/your kidneys, stomach, ribs, etc...you'll be wondering what the heck you were thinking wondering when you'd feel pregnant...but loving every minute of it too.

It took me a long time to believe it deep down.  I'm glad you are starting to get gifts.  Hopefully that will help it to settle into your mind.  Hugs and congrats!
