my baby got sick over a week ago with a ear infection -right ear, and a throat infection, she is on a 10 day regimin of amoxicillin

however i think i caught it, my right lymph node hurts, it hurts to swallow, and my right ear is killing me

i think its strep throat, and a ear infection, so i called out of work tomorrow and will go the e.r.

do u think they will keep me???

anyone ever had this while pregnant?

I got sick like that with Strep when I was early on in my pregnancy with Zander... They gave me a "safe" antibiotic to take during pregnancy and I was fine... I doubt they will keep you unless you are dehydrated or something like that (in such case, they'd just give you fluids and send you home later)... But definitely go get checked out and hope you feel better soon!!

No advice as to what they will do although I don't think they would keep you unless something else was wrong too, probs breathing, dehydrated, ect. But I hope you get help soon and starting feeling better even sooner!

I had a massive sinus infection and a bladder infection at the same time and they gave me amoxacillin (however it is spelled) and took acidophisius (the good bacteria in yogurt) to help me from getting a yeast infection...

They won't keep you... they didn't even keep me when they thought that I had something stuck in my bowels when I was pregnant...

If I was you I would go to a ready med/promt med instead of the ER... it will be cheaper too hehehe...

Could you go to an urgent care facility instead of a e.r.?  You'll probably have a shorter wait.
You may want to check your nearest CVS or Walgreen's.  Some of those have walk in clinics now.
I hope you feel better soon!

Good luck.

I had the flu and ended up in the ER pretty early on and they just rehydrated me and gave me meds. They didn't keep me.

Good luck. I hope you feel better.

I work in the ER and OF COURSE they will help you.  Did you know that it's against the law for an Emergency Room to turn you away & refuse to see you?  Anyway it sounds like they will do a rapid strep test (throat swab) & Rx some pregnancy safe antibiotics.

I had a throat infection (not strep) when I was about 14w pregnant with DD1 and I was given Amoxicillian...

Good luck & I hope you feel better soon!!!

i went today, however they did not do a throat culture but said it was strep, and the ear pain was related to it, so he gave me erythromycin, and told me go back to work on wednesday

it still hurts when i swallow, he said to garle with sal****er

thanks
