Its not like a big shocker or anything because ever since my surgery I have been having my peroid on the dot every single month. hehe

I have a few questions for those of you who have already gone through this.

Since the amount of food I can consume is limited should I be eating more meals through out the day? Now what about vomitting? Ive been having lots of morning sickness and evening too that recently I have been throwing up soon after I eat bfast or dinner., should I "refuel" to send nurishment to the fetus? I am taking my vitamins but boy do those make me even more nauseated! And about weight gain... I have lost 106lbs how much of it will I gain back??? How much did your baby weigh? Just kinda scared and dont know what to expect since I am a weightloss surgery person. I have had kids before (2 lovley boys) just this time around my body is different.

Thanks!

Hi, I may not be the best one to give advice on the topic, since I am newly preggo myself.  I am currently 18w3d pregnant.  At first, dear loved ones wanted me to eat often.  I tried and it made me sick.  I kept up my normal food intake and routine, until the baby let me know that he needed more calories then I was consuming.  My blood sugar started to drop, I felt like total poo.  My nausea was directly related to not eating enough food.  Once I started eating every 2-3 hours I felt better.  After the first trimester, I started to feel normal again.  I now eat every 3-4 hours, but I always have a bedtime snack......hungary or not.

As far as weight gain, there are others on the board that can give you all the information you need.

Good luck!!

I had an appointment w/ my nut as soon as I found out. She said I didn't have to break any wls rules just yet. I was put on some extra vitamins though. I have to take D, C, Iron, Folic Acid, Calcium, Multi, and Pranatle daily and B-12 2x week. I take them before bed except for the calcium. I hear that can help w/ the nausea. I also had to increase my milk to 32oz a day which is difficult because milk tastes grose now that Im pregnant. They also have a great perscription you can get for morning sickness. Just ask your doctor.

Hi Ashlie,

Wow that sounds like lots of vitamins how do you do it? I dont do so good when I take mine and I only take 3. I must admitt that ever since I found out I was pregnant I have been taking my vitamins every day but before I wasnt doing as I should. Yes my doc said to continue my normal eating and keep taking my vitamins they will monitor my blood levels throughout my pregnancy to make sure everything is ok. Just wondering if I should eat more and worried at the same time about gaining what Ive lost...YIKES!!!

I pretty much eat every 2-3 hours no matter what. I sleep about 6 hours at night so as soon as I get up I eat something. Usually sweet to get my blood sugars back up. I have lost 15 pounds since I got pregnant so hoping the loss will stop and at least level out. I feel worse if I dont eat often so that could help. For a few weeks crackers were my best friend. I cant drink milk or eat anything with milk in it. Lactose intoleant since surgery. I take 2 prenatals a day, 3 calcium with vit d, prevacid, and b complex. I get a b12 shot once a month. Thats my daily and last blood showed my protein low and calcium a little low. So I added an extra calcium. Protein shakes are hard for me still but I added foods higher in protein and hope that helps. Not sure about weight gain my nut said about 20-25 is about right. I gained at least 60 with each of my boys before surgery. Good thing is baby does not need the extra calories right now you just have to not let yourself not have food. So if you get sick wait a little bit and and try eating something light.

Hello Shannyn,

15lbs LOST since you've been pregnant??? Holly molly...lol

I must say I havent gained 1 pound back yet but im sure I will and its kinda sad to think that after all I went through to lose this weight I will gain some of it back because of the pregnancy and scared that I wont be able to loose it.

I have had tons of nausea and so ive been having soup and crackers which seem to do fine in my tummy and when I do vomitt after bfast I usually make myself a protien shake just so that I could have something in my tummy so that I am able to take those vitamins.

Thanks for the great advice!!!

I gained a total of 27 lbs from my recent pregancy. I just delivered 8 days ago. I vomited the entire pregnancy, i was on two different medications for nausea. I know that it is hard to keep food down!!!! However you know you need to refuel, however its hard to refuel after you have been sick. So far I have lost a few pounds however i am swollen(retaining fluid)but weight gained really should not be a issue, My little one only weighs 5 lbs 5 oz. and i worried about my weight while i was pregnant until they kept telling me about her being underweight and then i just did my best to eat and worry about my weight after.  I know this is hard, however my mind was better at peace when she started gaining weight on the ultrasound i was happy

CONGRATS! on your new baby girl!

Yes its very hard to refuel after you've just emptied your tummy but like you I feel sooooo sick that I dont even want to see food but know I need it. You give me something to think about... that its now NOT just all about me, Its about this growing baby inside that needs nurishment and I shouldnt worry to much about the weight gain!

Thanks!!!
