So still no headway on the appartment.

So the paycut is going to be smaller than I first believed. About 1.50 per hour and they "plan" to give me full time hours.

I say this in air quotes because I have seen them pull some stupid sh*t. What happened to me included. So they may give me full time hours for say a month and then BOOM... nada.

So for now, we may actually survive. Scraping by... but I think we will make it. Now we have to just find and appartment in our price range. oh, joy.

Well I will look at the positive -while a pay cut is never easy at least it is less then what you expected. Lets hope that the full time hours can hold out until you deliver and can then worry about finding a new job after your maternity leave.

Good luck with the apartment hunting! I have been looking for my BIL (long story) but it seems that apartment rates have REALLY dropped around here! Which is traditionally a very expensive area (that's why my house is 35 miles north in a different county!) but none-the-less bes tof luck with it!

I'm not sure if all states are the same...but I know when I had to leave my job because they were applying pressure to me to do things that were against my code of ethics (I'm a social worker****pt very detailed notes of conversations, examples of treatment, their tone to me, the details of cases - unethical request (minus residents names)...and when I knew they would fire me if I didn't do what they wanted I went job hunting and quite...I know you can't just up and leave...but start looking and keep LOTS of notes.  I left but I hadn't secured a job...I filed for unemployment and claimed hostle work environment, of course was denied, appealed with notes in hand at "court day" and won.  Hope it all works out the easiest way possible but I am a firm believer in being prepared, and I would keep a journel some place safe in-case you need it.

If you have not done so already, you might want to ask them to put your new positions, hours, and pay in writing. Since this is something that is not "reqeusted by you, or chosen", you would like to know what your new position will be: title, pay, and schedule of hours.

I agree with Traci.  Especially since some places can do 32 hours as a "full time" position, and you still keep your health benefits through them.  That is what is considered full time for my spouse, and you know that losing 32 hours a month off his check during the slow season (when they typically schedule his "full time" schedule) makes budgeting a PITA.

With your experience, do you think you could find something more comparable to your supervisor position? I worked in this field for many years as a part-time job, and it was never hard to find something open. Seems to be one of those jobs where people are always in and out. I wish you all the best, I cannot imagine how you must feel right now.
