baby food
I was just wondering about baby food. I have started to give Max a little food at night. He has some cereal and with that I give him some carrots. But on another parent forum that I frequent seems like that they all make their baby food. Should I be doing this? Is it ok to feed him jar food? I went and looked at all the ingredients of stage one food veggies and all of them just said what veggie it was and water. Am I missing something here on the labels? I plan to buy just the organic one. Does it really save you money? I don't want to buy all kinds of veggies and fruits which can be expensive and not have hime like any of it. He is just starting out so I am just doing one veggie a week, so far he likes the carrots.
I am just starting to feel like a bad mother if I don't make his food. I plan on it when he is older and when he goes to stage 3 foods.
Just confused!

It is perfectly fine to feed them jarred food. I have made some when they were eating the pureed, but for the most part, they were fed jarred food. It gave them a variety of foods and they didn't mind eating it. Now they are 11 months old and they are eating almost all table food. As long as he is getting a well-balanced diet, that is all that matters.

You are totally not a bad mom... jared food is perfectly fine for your baby. If it wasn't - they wouldn't make it. -)
I actually make some and I buy some. I originally thought I would make it all... but there are a lot things that aren't in season or things I can't find organic. The things that I have found and made I made a batch and froze it in cubes. (apples, mango, sweet potato, squash, bananas, avacodo) It is quite simple and doesn't take as much time as I thought. I also don't buy a lot of fruit or veggies at at time - a little goes a long way.
Hugs,
Erika

Jar baby good is perfectly healthy, as well as homemade. The biggest difference, homemade food is way cheaper! I make a lot of Libby's food, except dinners. She does not like homemade meat. I think the texture is just too weird for her. So, I make her fruits and veggies. It is much cheaper than buying it.
Also, organic isn't any better for your kids than non-organic. I did some research on it a while back ago for a friend of mine that swears it is healthier. Here is just one article to read
