help! baby ate laxative suppository????

While Daddy was watching Quade he found one of those baby enemas and got the lid off (was in basket of toys that we keep his wipes and desitin in, he doesnt usually get in the basket but Daddy was watching, ugh!!!!). I dont know if he ate some of the stuff or not but it was on his hands and about 1/2 of the thing is emptied out. The active ingrediant is glycerine 2.3 g inactive ispurified water. I am pretty sure this wont hurt him but need some opinions.
this was over an hour ago and there hasnt been any side effects.
I just found the enema while picking up toys.

Oh no! I would think he would be fine..... but you might want to give your pedi a call just in case. That is what I would do. Have plenty of water available.... and be prepared to change a few diapers.

i am pretty sure it wont do anything except maybe give him some "slick" poo. there's no medication in it so it would be about the same as if he ate a bit of lard. (except that would upset his tummy)... it may coat the inside of his mouth, no idea on how to get that out though. If I recall correctly, my little brother did this once and unlike the bead up the nose incident, no harm was done.

He is fine. I called the nurse and they said that the little amt that is missing isnt enough to have much of an effect. It isnt dangerous. He must not have ate it, no poopies at all today.
Ill tell you the funniest thing with Quade, he doesnt poop on Saturdays, ever. I think it is because his routine is to poop at grandmas while I am at work during the week so on the weekend he just doesnt hehe. He usually does on sunday but not much and then on monday he poops all day.
I tell Trey(hubby) that Quade is just being a sweet boy and saving it for grandma, hehe.

Call poison control just in case.  Walker ate the colace (that is given to you right after you give birth) It had fallen out of the medicine cabinet and the top broke.  He happened to be sitting by my feet and I thought I had picked it all up and then he had his hands in his mouth.  Sure enough, he had popped a few...he was about 8 months old.  He just had really bad poops for a few days.  We had to watch for dehydration but he was fine after that.

Just call to be sure and have the box ready when they answer.  Better safe than sorry.  GOOD LUCK!!!  :)  Get the wipes ready lol :-)

When in doubt, call poison control, they really are awsome. My son ate about half a tube of Desitin (he was supposed to be napping, but figuured out how to climbe out of his crib instead!) and the women at posion control laughed when I told her, and told me that while it was the most gross thing she had heard in a while, it would not kill him LOL I have even called them after a toothpaste incident (yeah, my kid is strange), and they are really very helpful.
