Am I too anal about this?
Snag a friend's kid or relative's. I did it to my spouse. Best friend came to town to visit, and I basically took her 3 month old, turned to the hubby, kissed his cheek and said.. "She's yours for the next 4 hours while we vist. Got any questions, just interrupt to ask. Here's her bottle, she needs to be burped every 2-3 oz, if she's really sucking it down. Here's how you do that."
He was over the moon, and did really well. Then he got confident enough to steal his co-workers babies when they brought them in to work, and would wander off with them. ROFL He's a favorite at work, now.

I don't think you are being to anal at all. My husband and I were shopping online for safe strollers, and carseats. We also were looking at cribs, rocking chairs, and some of the bedding. We talk about the doctors, and what to expect. We can't start trying yet, but we both are really excited and want to make sure we are as informed as we can get. We wanted to figure out the expensives before we jumped into something, and wern't able to provide a wonderful life for our child. It's been fun figuring out everything, I just pray we get pregnant like some of my friends did, immediately. I feel like my body is now normalled out, crossing my fingers, and good luck to you!
a lot of my friends have done that... I don't think it is anal at all... I think it is really smart... because when I got pregnant I was sent looking real fast lol... and if you have issues in TTC... you have an OB already that might be able to help and get the ball rolling in the right direction...
Informed... Prepared.. Those are all good things! I'm getting "prepared" even tho I'm not yet pregnant. I have a bunch of baby clothes (started buying when step sister was pregnant last year), and some diapers... I don't have much left from baby#1 (who's about to turn 9) and I know how expensive things can be, so I'm trying to get them when I find a deal (sales on diapers, clothes etc at garage sales). I haven't yet picked out a new dr or hospital- i'm not in the same town I was in when I had my son, so the dr's office is a ways away, so I might need to think of somewhere closer.....
So it's not a problem! At least not in my eyes :)
