Andrew gets this on his neck from drooling a lot.  I just rub some regular baby powder on his neck.

Yup, looks like teething rash (from the drool). DS had several of these. We tried to change his shirt often and dress in layers (to absorb some of the drool). Also, dry it really well and try plain cooking corn starch lightly covering his neck. Holly reminded me about this when I posted re Ev's diaper rash. Corn starch was used a lot the first 2 yrs of my son's life!

Hope it improves soon. The good news is it bothered me more than it seemed to bother DS.

Hugs,

Jo

My son drools like something awful and gets this all the time.  His pedi said to use a thin coat of 1% hydrocortisone cream.   You will be able to tell a difference after using it just once!

awwww...poor thing!  I'm glad to hear it doesn't seem to bother him to much.

I would think the powder/corn starch is a good way to start.  And I'd be calling the doc, too

Good luck!

Pam

Yeah, I am going to try some after his bath.  It does look better, but I am going to keep trying things!

I would avoid baby powder and corn starch this close to the face (it can cause issues if baby inhales it), I would use Aquafor (love that stuff!) and just keep it clean and dry. If it get's any little raised bumps, it could be a yeast infection and I would call doc to see what you can use in that case (again, being that it's so close to the face you don't want to chance something getting near or in their mouth without checking with doc first)

Where do you get Aquafor at?  Walmart?  Is it a lotion?  The Doc thought it was just from his drooling and puking....I will keep an eye on it...don't want the poor guy to get a yeast infection!
I have been afraid to use to much on it because of that very reason...I am afraid he will touch it and the put his fingers in his mouth.
Thanks for the suggestion!
