strange pain...for me anyway
Did it feel like a burning, clawing pain? I have had sever indigestion and heartbeart over the past couple of days (doc thinks viral gastroentoritis (sp?)). and that is exactly what I had. I felt like everything under my ribs was all balled up and swollen, and then had horrible burning, clawing pain. Doc told me to take two Pepcid a day unitl pain was gone, and then down to one a day for the rest of the pregnancy just in case it wasn't viral so it does not happen again.
I'm sorry you are in pain.
No experience with it, but I think it could have been gas/heartburn or the baby pushing up on your ribs. Especially since it went away. i think if it happens again maybe call your doc.
Glad you are feeling better!!!

It's a BOY!
Pain was better by morning but it was not gas or heartburn I know I really think now since he is moving so much that he was just in a position last night that was causing more pressure than I have felt so far, it really felt like my ribs were being pulled apart from each side!! Let's just hope he doesn't go back there again!!
I go the OB in the morning so I will mention it!!

Hi Beth!
Yep, Baby Pirate has her toes in my left ribcage pretty consistantly. It's usually in the evenings that I am most uncomfortable (I'm almost 31 weeks now, by the way.) Here are some suggestions that really work for me.
1. lay on your left side with your arm (whichever one is above the ribs that hurt) extended. Sometimes this stretch will give her more room and get her out of there.
2. Sit on an exercise ball and "roll your hips open". This can get baby to move just enough that they stop dancing on your rib cage.
3. Kneel with your knees on the floor and your arms and torso over an exercise ball to take some of the pressure off your belly. This can really open up your chest cavity and give baby more room to scoot, too! If you don't have an exercise ball, lean over a chair or ottoman and try the same thing.
4. You can also try a warm bath or swimmin. Pretty much anything to get your uterus away from your ribs will help, ... Hopefully!
Hope you feel better soon!
