This makes me feel so much better. the discoloration is something i have always hidden, and although I do not miss my periods, I am looking forward to having them so then I can start on having a family! :) Congrats on your success and thats much motivation for fueling me to keep going!

I had my surgery the 19th of this month. I am hoping this is the tool to nip this battle in the butt! :) The weight just kept packing on no matter what I was doing. I know it's only been two weeks, but I already feel like a different person. I am excited to see how my progress goes, and a friend referred me to this site. It's a way for me to put my feelings out without the fear of being judged :)

I also have PCOS, I'm almost 1 year of from VSG and I'm happy to report that I have had a regular period since about 2 months postop. I feel great, the cravings that came along with it have gone and my skin clearer than it has ever been.

I pray that you too win the war

Welcome. I'm somewhat new myself. Just a suggestion, you can try posting this same message in one of the WLS forums of your choice, they seem to be the most active. Good luck on your journey!

Hi Sammi. I know what you mean! I've struggled with PCOS since I was 16 years old, now 30. I'm pursuing VSG too and have a seminar scheduled for Aug 23rd. Good luck with your "successful" journey!

I was diagnosed when i was 14.. I am 25 now. I maintained my weight through highschool b/c i was such a jock.. then the issues w/ my back started, and i graduated being 200 lbs in 2004, to now... I am 25 and 388... I just had the WLS, the sleeve, and i am looking forward. I have been with my fiance for 7 years, and NEVER once used any sort of contraceptive, and have NOT been pregnant and all. we are getting married in October, and I pray every day that once i lose all this weight that we can start our family. I have been to the mayo clinic for the passed 4 years every 3-6 months for surgeries and feel like a lab rat. i have the facial hair, discoloration on my neck and underarms, no cycles at all, even with 100 days straight of provera... I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is my answer, that the surgery i had almost two weeks ago is my tool to helping me acheive what i want and be a happy girl :)

I told my fiancee that if I should die before he does, do not, I repeat-do NOT let them put "cause of death-obesity" on my death certificate! I agree with you whole heartedly!

Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? I say, what difference does it make--I paid for a full glass,so either way I am getting jipped!!!

Topic: RE: I wish the PCOS forum was more active

so i normally am a lurker however have had a bad day. went to ob gyn today. I had VSG bout 18 months ago. Lost 150 lbs. the honeymoon period is over. I have regained some weight 15 lbs. My doctor took me off of metformin because I was doing so well. Now the pcos is coming back with thorns or so my husband says.  I demanded to be put back on metformin don't know if it will help.  However on the positive I can say the PCOS symtoms with pretty much gone for 15 months.  except no periods returned but found out today that i am menopausal.  so there is my explanation with no bedside manor and you will have to do donor egg if you want to get pregnant.  MY advice be your own advocate and yes your side effects will go away from pcos at least mine did. stay strong and good luck. feel free to pm me.
